Mona Arbinger is winner of Miss Pole Dance Austria 2013, Pole Fitness Hungarian Open 2012 and Miss Aerial Pole International 2010 (Germany). She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Mona Arbinger on WomenFitness: I love the concept of womenfitness.net. It is very informative in so many different ways. I will definitely recommend it to my ladies!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Your practice in dance and sports at an early age was a catalyst that in 2009 you fell in love with pole dance and reached the pinnacle of success by winning the Miss Aerial Pole Austria 2010 and 1st place in Pole Fitness Hungarian Open 2012. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
Miss Aerial Pole Austria 2010 was not the pinnacle of success due to the minimum of participants in this competition. Pinnacle was definitively the 1st place in Pole Fitness Hungarian Open 2012 and the 1st at Miss & Mister Pole Dance Austria 2013.
Honestly, I participated in numbers of competitions and very often I got last places. It was really frustrating me, but I did not stop to train and try. There are countless talented women and men in the world doing this fabulous sport and also so many different competitions. The one thing is that you never stop trying to give your best, but the other thing is also to have luck that at this competition to have good grip, good day and nobody better than you is on stage – because always and anytime somebody better than you is somewhere, that’s something you should never forget! We can only make the best of ourselves.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have training and experience in Group Fitness, Personal Fitness, Pilates, Healthy Back, ThaiBoRobix, Fila Kick Power and Aqua uva. You also have Certified Dance’n Strip Classic & Floor Trainer certification. How this knowledge and conditioning helped you in competitive pole dancing ?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
I don’t think it is helping me in competitive pole dancing, but it’s definitely helping me in teaching classes on pole.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are certified trainer for Polebatics and Austria’s first Polebatic. Elaborate on this concept of Polebatics?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
Polebatics teaches a methodic and pedagogic way of teaching pole classes. It’s a step-by-step system how to learn pole. The lower level is the base for the higher.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
I love my warm-up 🙂 It’s a overall warm-up starting with cardio parts, strength exercises for the whole body and some exercises specially for pole. After this, you definitely feel ready for pole.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
No, I am not a diet fan. I try to keep my nutrition balanced.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding pole dancing girls who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of pole dancing ?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
I don’t think that I have fans ^^. The secret is: Never give up! It’s pain when you hit the pole, when your skin is squeezed by the pole, and so much more. At the beginning the motivation is rising, new tricks are working fast but this is just temporary. Demotivation is coming up, when it is coming to a higher level, when the body needs time to adapt concerning strength and/or flexibility.
You feel weak or like you can do nothing. Your are pampered by the quick success you had at the beginning – we like this feeling! Believe in yourself that if you keep on training, the day will come where the trick you are working on will work. It will, if you work on it!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How did you feel before and after winning Miss Pole Dance Austria Professional competition?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
In general absolutely the same. The own thing is that all the pressure falls down of you. You are preparing for times your routine on the pole for this 3-5 mins act – giving your absolutely best in 3-5 mins is pressure for me. I am so relieved when it is over ^^
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about the Nele Sehrt concept of lap dance training, the concept and training of Chair Dance and the “Professional Flexibility” training at Frederick van Laak?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
Nele is skilled dancer. The concepts bring everything in an aesthetic light. The Professional Flexibility training with Frederick is great! He shows medical pictures of joints, ligaments, etc and explains on this why things work an why not and how to support every exercise to work safe and effective.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your greatest influencer and motivator in your success in the field of your career in competitive pole dancing ?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
Birgit! She is Polearts-teacher, trainings-partner and friend. We are sending vids to each other when we find new tricks or we have made a new trick successfully. She tells me to get up and train, she keeps me motivated. She is watching my routines and gives me honest feedback – same the other way round, because she is competing as well.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your endeavor “Polearts“ ?
Ms. Mona Arbinger:
Polearts is my baby ^^. When I started pole dancing, in Austria there were nothing to learn. When I did my training with Nele in Germany, I came back and worked on harder. Due to my experience as a group instructor, I thought to give some classes on pole – but I would have never counted with such a huge feedback! Hardly everybody just smiled at my new hobby at the beginning.
In 2010 I started teaching classes in my fathers fitness-studio. In the same year I opened up my own studio in Vienna and got my first teachers working for me. Nowadays we are offering pole dance classes in 4 different places in and around Vienna. Polearts stands for strength and straight lines. We also love being sexy on pole, but first get the strength and work on lines 🙂
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
