Ms. Namita Nayyar: You go to different countries for your professional career. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust with modelling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Ms. Megan Morewood: To be honest most of the time you fly in, you work and fly out. I miss out on actually seeing places I work except from the studio or location we’re shooting at. If you’re actually living and casting in another country it can be madness, London and New York are hectic because of the size but the transport links mean you can get anywhere any time.
Europe is very different and in the old days (before GPS on our phones) they would give you a map and send you on your way, some streets didn’t even have signs! The best tips I could give for being in an unfamiliar place is leave yourself plenty of time, take a hair and and a mini-kit of essentials: makeup, hairbrush, vest and flat shoes. I say mini as if you
don’t travel light your portfolio and all these things will wear you down and it’ll be noticeable in your energy levels going to castings.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You work in the media AS A model, actress, Freelance diet and nutrition consultant. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Megan Morewood: I think they go hand in hand really, it definitely helps with modelling to have an outgoing confident personality and acting is a big part of modelling too as you portray such different characters in each job and versatility is the key to success. Nutrition is something you cannot ignore as a model because you have to maintain a certain level of health to look and feel great with glowing skin and an admirable figure. I feel all of these things keep my mind and brain active, I’m also constantly educating myself which I love.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Megan Morewood: I like to constantly change it up to keep challenging my body so I like to do a mix of Pilates, boxing, weights, cardio and resistance training to keep me motivated and updated on new exercises.
Megan Morewood on WomenFitness: I think it’s a great place to pick up health, fitness and beauty advice. If, like me your constantly on the look out for exciting new tips or a bit of motivation for the day it’s the perfect place to find information you can rely on. |
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Megan Morewood: I mainly eat vegetables with some fish, occasionally white meats but pretty much gluten and cows dairy free. So quite alkaline, I don’t follow the alkaline diet strictly though as I love a glass of prosecco and sometimes the odd cocktail. I try to stay away from too much fruit and other sugars so will eat berries and nuts as a snack.
I believe very much in the 80/20 rule of 80% healthy and sticking to a clean diet and 20% treating myself to the things I love.
