Martina Bucher started her sports career in competitive artistic gymnastics. Martina then found pole fitness at the end of 2010 and fell in love with the sport after her very first pole trick. After completing just one pole fitness course and three month intensive training, Martina got invited to compete in April 2011 at the ‘Miss Pole Fitness Germany’ competition, where she took out not only second place, but the ‘Best Choreography’ award as well. This set the foundation stone for Martina’s next competitions and her studio ‘Pole Acrobatics Studio’ which opened in January 2012 in Switzerland.
Martina then took part in the ‘Miss Pole Fitness Zurich 2012’ and won second place, qualifying her a place in ‘Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland 2012’ where she won third place and won the ‘Best Tricks’ title. In the same summer, Martina got invited to take part at the ‘World Pole Sport Championships London 2012.’ After that she travelled to Rome for the ‘European Pole Sport Championships 2012’ where she was a finalist for the ‘Critics Award.’ Then in November 2012, Martina competed in the ‘2nd Pole World Cup 2012’ in Rio de Janeiro where she was placed in the Top 15.

Martina Bucher Finalist and Winner of “Critics Award” European Pole Sport Championship 2012. Pole Dancer par excellence from Switzerland is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You started your sports career in competitive artistic gymnastics and later ventured into pole dancing in 2010, this was the catalyst that made you reach the pinnacle of success in pole dancing where you won second place in April 2011 at the ‘Miss Pole Fitness Germany’ competition and also the ‘Best Choreography’ award. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
At that time my trainer was assured that I’m good enough to compete there. So I started training at home by myself and focused on new moves to achieve.
We put a choreography together and focused on that. My trainer stood strong behind me and helped me wherever I needed it. I think that’s why I ended up second, I think.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
In just after completing one pole fitness course and three month intensive training, you developed your own mesmerizing style of pole dancing and excelled. Elaborate on this meteoric rise in competitive pole dancing ?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
Actually I have been shocked that I got second and I thought that it would be a bit calmer around me after the championship, but that was just a thought. I got asked by a lot of girls if I could train them. So I opened a Pole Dance School named (Pole Acrobatics) because it wasn’t possible to give trainings at home. I also had so much fun competing that I thought of doing that again.
Martina Bucher on Women Fitness:
I really like the interviews from the athletes, because they show that you can achieve every goal you set yourself. It’s important to believe in your goals and train for it. The homepage also gives good tips for diet and training methods.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine that you shall like to share?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
The first thing that is very important is to warm up before every workout. Second thing that is very important in pole dancing is to train everything on both sides. Train the muscles in both arms and legs equally to prevent malposition of the body.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
Yes I follow some food rules, but for me that’s not really rules. I’m not eating sweets or chips or anything like that. I eat a lot of protein in my meals and also only eat wholemeal cereals, bread, pasta and so on, but that’s just the things I like the most. My mum always said : “You want something sweet? Take an apple that’s sweet, too.” Well I think she is right.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding pole dancing girls who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of pole dancing ?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
Always try your best in your own way. There are so many styles out there, find your own. On stage it’s your routine, put in it the moves and transitions you like the most, so it feels confident on stage. Try to feel the music and enjoy your time on stage! I think all the hard training is for the gratification: your time on stage!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about the activities of your endeavor “Pole Acrobatics Studio”?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
In January we had 5 participants out of my Pole Acrobatics Studios in the Final of the “Swiss Pole Dance Championship 2014” . It was a big event and we had a lot of fun to show our best. The boys got 3rd and 4th place the double got 2nd and I got 3rd place. It was very successful for us. The next big thing will be the summer party where all the courses will have some shows where they are working on at the moment.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your greatest influencer and motivator in your success in the field of your career in competitive pole dancing ?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
My boyfriend always stands strong behind me in all I do. My Pole Acrobatics Team that gives their best to help me and motivates me every day for training and getting better. They also help me with my performances and always they are more nervous than me when I go on stage.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about the events that led you to being European Pole Sport Championship – Finalist and “Critics Award” Winner 2010?
Ms. Martina Bucher:
Well there are many people that think being an athlete is easy and we never fail, but the truth is that we fail a lot of times till we achieve a big goal like a second place at a European Championship. We fall and try again. There where championships I got into the finals but didn’t get any award. But I still move on.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
