Lucy Kenward: Fashion Model and TikTok Star Talks About Fitness Regime, Diet and Beauty Secrets

Lucy Kenward is a fashion model, social media personality and TikTok content creator best known for her notlucyyy account. She shares fashion modeling video clips and outfit inspiration set to popular songs. She has more than 130k followers on the platform.

She made her TikTok debut in 2021 with a video captioned, “I was bloated in this pls ignore.”She was a cheerleader. She has modeled clothing from the online retailer Shein. She has cosplayed as the Peter Pan character Tinker Bell. She has modeled lingerie from the brand Lounge. She was born in Guernsey, it is one of the Channel Islands in the English Channel near the French coast, and is a self-governing British Crown dependency.

She created a TikTok set to music by Calvin Harris and Katy Perry.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with, Lucy Kenward, an exceptionally talented fashion model, social media personality and TikTok content creator here she talks about her fitness routine, her diet, and her success story.

Namita Nayyar:

Where were you born and had your early education? Later you decided to pursue modeling and being an Instagram Influencer. This later propelled your career to the height where you are an upcoming social media influencer. Tell us more about your professional journey of exceptional hard work, tenacity, and endurance.

Lucy Kenward:

I was born on the small island of Guernsey, it’s a very tight community and I wanted to have the opportunity to meet new people and further my education, therefore I moved to England. I started off gaining qualifications in Makeup, Beauty, Hair and SFX and later moved onto gaining honours awards in the perfume world. I’ve always wanted to do modeling; however as a petite female, I found it rather difficult and decided to push it aside for a while.

During lockdown I decided to post some TikTok videos and I started getting a few views, nothing crazy. Until I posted one video and all of a sudden in a day I gained 30k followers. I was shocked and I started posting more regularly, I eventually had brands contact me for promotion which I never thought would’ve even been an option for me to create a job out of social media. Up until today I still put in all my spare time into creating content and studying social media algorithms to keep on top of things.

Namita Nayyar:

You started your YouTube Channel Lucy @notlucyyy. Tell us more about this endeavor of yours.

Lucy Kenward:

YouTube is a little harder to grow an audience on so I started reposting my content from TikTok, onto YouTube shorts and I reached a whole new audience I didn’t think I could reach, primarily in America! I typically review products and do hauls for my long form content. I certainly want to upload more and dabble into Vlogs! Winter wonderland would probably be a great place for this so stay tuned.

Namita Nayyar:

You are the leading social media personality, model, and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Lucy Kenward:

I think it’s flattering to have my creativity, time and effort to be noticed by so many people. It encouraged me even more and gives me motivation to keep going and creating the content everyone’s entertained by and loves. I typically give myself content days each week to create multiple videos and photos in one day; which requires a lot of outfit changes!

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Lucy Kenward:

I used to be a cheerleader and I am a self-taught gymnast so I have always been very active. I also love to do stretches and yoga in the morning, after waking up to get me ready for the day.

Namita Nayyar:

How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.

Lucy Kenward:

I typically do gymnastics and that’s how I keep my toned body and abs. This is because it is a very intense cardio workout, along with using your body weight and the strength of your muscles to hold yourself up and to be able to stick out the flips.

Namita Nayyar:

Women Fitness talks about diets and fitness regime; do you follow any special diet? What is your favorite cuisine?

Lucy Kenward:

I typically stick to the same foods for a long period of time until I get bored of them. At the moment for breakfast I have Oats with fruit. For lunch I have Avocado and Egg on toast. I also enjoy a portion of pesto pasta if I’m on the go. For dinner I always have chicken with my meals as it’s such a rich and healthy protein source.

I have also recently been having Teriyaki salmon and rice, which is divine! My favorite cuisine is probably Asian food, specifically Chicken Pad Thai, however this is a high calorie meal due to the noodles, this can always be substituted for something else to make it healthier, however it’s a great filling meal as a treat!

Namita Nayyar:

Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep to a minimum.

Lucy Kenward:

I love Potatoes, they are so versatile and I can never get bored of them. Secondly, chicken is something I eat and love daily as there are so many different meals you can add this to. My third favorite food is probably watermelon as it’s super tasty and full of water for hydration. Another food I love is dried apricots, such a tasty snack for on the go! Last but not least, pasta as once again very versatile and filling, despite it being carb filled, it’s great for my intense cardio workouts as I need the energy.
Five foods I enjoy but try to keep to a minimum would probably be chocolate, cake, bread, chips and pastries. Absolutely lovely but try not to indulge too often!

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Lucy Kenward:

I make sure to spend a bit more money and take some extra care when looking into the kindest products for my hair and skin. For my skincare routine I start with a Niacin-amide toner, followed by 2 serums, Hydrochloric acid for hydration and absorption of my skincare products, along with vitamin c for brightening. I then go in with Kiehls daily moisturizer and avocado eye cream. For my hair I always try to avoid sulphates as it strips the natural oils in my hair too much. I like to use a Shea hair mask once a week for max hydration and it leaves my hair feeling silky smooth.

Namita Nayyar:

Social media is saturated right now, how do you feel about it? Tips on budding influencers who wish to make their move?

Lucy Kenward:

Consistency is key! The more you post the more likely you will get on people discover pages and be noticed. It also gives a higher chance of you being pushed out to new audiences as your engagement rate will increase. Most importantly be yourself and create content you enjoy with your own creative flare to stand out and because your followers can see if you are enjoying the content you make more than you think.

Namita Nayyar:

Five athletic leisure brands you love to wear.

Lucy Kenward:

I typically wear SHEIN’s own brand Glowmode. The material is super soft and makes me feel so confident! I have nearly all the colors of the full length leggings. It’s also super affordable which is a plus. For shoes I’m always wearing Nike, super comfy, lightweight and flexible. When I’m feeling a little bit more luxurious I will wear Gymshark. Other than that I keep my brands to a minimum as I find these my favorite and the comfiest.

Namita Nayyar:

Five travel destinations on your wish list.

Lucy Kenward:

Anywhere hot! But not too hot… I don’t think I can handle it as I burn too easily and I am way too used to the weather in England. I’ve never actually been on holiday before so I would love to go to Greece, Spain and Turkey in November time when it’s not too hot. Amsterdam and Italy are ones I’d love to go to in the summer.

Namita Nayyar:

You have done bold photo shoots for a number of fashion brands and on your Instagram handle @lucy.rk. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Lucy Kenward:

It’s been a long journey to find my confidence and am still always working on it, however when I am in front of a camera, in an outfit I think looks absolutely bomb, I’ll forget about my surroundings and only focus on the camera.

I love shooting in Central London because although it’s super populated, it’s a photo hotspot and people don’t care what you do there! Even if you get looks, just remember that you had the confidence to go in front of the camera in the first place and they will totally forget in 5 minutes as there’s probably way more crazy things in London to take their mind off you simply feeling confident behind a camera!

Your idea of a perfect date?

Lucy Kenward:

Winter wonderland is certainly up there for my favorite date spot. The romantic, cozy atmosphere with hot chocolate and churros with the person you love is something unmatched. Spending quality time and making memories is all I can ask for on a date, it doesn’t have to be fancy at all.

Namita Nayyar:

Womenfitness.net website is super inclusive and always an enticing read. There are so many different articles to read and discover which I personally find really helpful. The layout of the website is also really easy to browse and not filled with ads so you aren’t scrolling for ages trying to find what you need which I hate about other websites.
