Louise is a British Olympian IFBB PRO Figure Champion & Qualified Personal Trainer.
Louise offers her clients over 15 years’ experience as a qualified trainer, as well as 10 years’ experience in competition training. Louise graduated with an honors degree and has since pursued masters level education within the field of Disordered Eating. In addition Louise also tutors individuals to become Personal Trainers.
Louise started training with weights during her teens, and quickly fell in love with bodybuilding. She began competing in 2008 and turned IFBB PRO in 2009. During her career she has coached numerous clients, both male and female to achieve their fitness and wellness goals, and over the last few years she has been coaching bikini and figure clients, from amateur through to IFBB PRO level.

Namita Nayyar:
You must have had interest in sports and physical activities since childhood. Later you were encouraged & motivated to compete in fitness competitions. You reached the pinnacle of success by winning 1st position at UK Body Fitness Champion 2008.Tell us about your journey that took you to the the world of fitness and as a winner in Professional Figure competitions?
Louise Rogers:
My journey into fitness started from a very young age… I used to train for track and field events, in fact, back in those days my dream was to join the England team and compete in the sprint events. This dream was cut short by illness; I suffered for around a year with a serious respiratory disease. This caused a massive impact to my training and I abandoned my training in the end. For about a year I didn’t particularly train much, up until the point whereby my sister started training as a fitness instructor. When this occurred, my mother asked me if I would accompany her to the gym; because of her age she could not attend without someone who was at least 17. I started attending with her, whilst my sister was pottering around the gym I patiently waited on the stair master… within the space of a few months I had dropped a few dress sizes and resembled a super waif type figure. From here, I started to become more interested in health and fitness. It was a few years later when I became a PT and started working in a gym that another colleague asked me what I thought about the figure athletes in Muscle & Fitness magazine. I remember I had never seen women like this before, and almost instantly, I knew that’s what I wanted to do… I then started training with the intention of becoming a figure professional.

Namita Nayyar:
How your experience in health & wellness, education of Premier Training Personal Training course and background of many years in Professional Figure competitions has helped you in carving your present profession of being a fitness model and fitness expert?
Louise Rogers:
To be honest I am not sure my experience with Premier helped me that much… I did not feel overly confident after I had completed the course. My confidence in respect to my knowledge was gained through university and through the practical experience of working with other trainers and within various health clubs.
I do feel though that my experience of competing has helped me delve into fitness modelling. It has helped raise my profile and I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some amazing photographers, and gain sponsorship with some notable brands. Competing has taught me a lot… It has taught me that hard work and sacrifice will ultimately help you reach your goals, and the same goes for all other areas of my life. I apply the same principles.
Namita Nayyar:
Share your exercise routine that you do to maintain such a bikini perfect physique?
Louise Rogers:
When I look in my best condition I train twice daily – one session with weights and another focused on cardio. My routine as it stands is heavily focused on my glutes. I have been utilising high frequency training and I have found this to be highly effective in developing my glutes. My routine is as follows:
During these workouts if my goal is a lean physique I train at an intensive level, training as heavy as I can with shorter rest periods. I also utilise a variety of training methods including drop sets, supersets, time under tension etc. I also use a variety of sets and reps. I incorporate cardio sessions approximately 30 minutes 5 times per week… Although the most important aspect to get right if you’re aiming for a bikini physique is your diet. It must be clean, healthy and consistently good!
- Mon – Glutes & Shoulders
- Tues – Back & Biceps
- Weds – Quads & Glutes
- Thurs – Off
- Fri – Chest & Triceps
- Sat – Glutes& Hamstrings
- Sun – Cardio only.
Namita Nayyar:
What is your diet? Do you take a particular fixed regulated diet comprising of nutrients and vitamins to keep you in perfect health?
Louise Rogers:
My diet is actually much more liberal than it used to be. When I first started training I was very rigid and only followed very specific eating plans… These days I prefer to simply eat healthy and fresh foods.
I have tried every possible diet you can imagine and the one that works best, including during competition is always a diet that includes all food groups… I do not cut carbohydrates out as I suppose some might expect – I just monitor the variables in my diet and manipulate them to meet my goals.
Namita Nayyar:
What is your motivation to take a multi-faceted personality of a fitness model, IFBB professional figure competitor, Fitness Personal Trainer and a nutritional expert?
Louise Rogers:
My motivation? I guess I have always just loved fitness; achieving my goals and also helping others achieve their goals. If I can help someone make a change to his or her lifestyle and perhaps act as a source of inspiration or support, then I’m pretty satisfied! Moreover, it helps me continue doing what I am doing.
Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?
Louise Rogers:
Thank you! Actually when it comes to my hair I feel the less I do to it the better! I don’t use any sprays, rarely use bleach, or products like this… I rarely use straighteners and what not! I just don’t do too much to it, and I feel that keeps it in much better condition! In terms of my skin, I do use a decent moisturiser, but I’m sure my skin looks good due to my make up! I am a trained makeup artist and I’m pretty obsessed with perfect foundation and contour application!
Namita Nayyar:
Fitness modelling is about bold photo shoots. What advice you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such bold modeling?
Louise Rogers:
I had to think about this one…to ensure you are body confident for a fitness shoot I have a few tips… Firstly, ensure you are lean enough for the shoot, plan some shots e.g. what look are you going for, how can it be achieved, plan your hair/makeup and tan (tan isn’t always necessary)… plan to wear some lovely gym clothing (although this maybe provided), avoid foods which can bloat you out on the day otherwise you’ll feel uncomfortable and less confident during the shoot, pump up before you take the shots!
Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding professional figure competitor girls who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to ladder of success in field of professional figure competitions?
Louise Rogers:
My best advice – keep going!! Many women give up when they’re getting close to achieving their pro card or a national title…. In addition, some get disheartened. Whilst my route to a pro card may have seemed very fast, I had been training 8 years before I won it and I only competed when I knew I was at the level to win one. The best achievements do take time, so just keep working away and the results/achievements will come.
Namita Nayyar:
Tell us how you felt before and after standing 5th place in the world at IFBB World Championships in Como, Italy. And becoming the first woman in the UK to achieve an IFBB Figure Pro card abroad?
Louise Rogers:
Prior to the world championships – nervous but quietly confident. I put everything into preparing for that competition. No stone was left unturned… However, I was competing against some world champions whom I really looked up to so it was nerve racking. Afterwards… what can I say, it was fantastic! All of my hard work and sacrifice had paid off… I was also relieved it was over, I felt exhausted. It remains one of my greatest achievements, alongside my university successes.
Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your biggest influence and motivation in your path to success?
Louise Rogers:
My biggest influence – Monica Brant… she remains the world’s best ever figure professional in my opinion. Currently though I am inspired by Latorya Watts – she is an outstanding figure pro and current Miss Olympia. My influences now? I think my family and friends; they always encourage me to pursue my dreams to compete.
Namita Nayyar:
You have won 1st place at UK Body Fitness Champion and so on. What additional responsibilities these winnings bestow upon you towards the community and the sports of professional figure competitions you compete in?
Louise Rogers:
I think I have a responsibility to be honest, whilst also promoting a healthy lifestyle and attitude towards competing and fitness modelling. I try to maintain professionalism too… It’s important for those coming up in the sport to have a positive influence, and it’s important for my sponsors too.
