Lori-Ann Marchese is in conversation with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have been the former Mrs. Connecticut 2013, winning overall WBFF Pro card at Fitness Atlantic, competing at Worlds Montreal WBFF Pro Championship receiving Top 3 Pro Champion in 2014. Walk us through your incredible fitness journey and tell us how it all started?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
It all began when I was a teenager. I started working out to better my health, and to feel better, but then, I formed an attachment to fitness. As my love of fitness grew, I knew that I wanted to take it a step further. In my case, I entered my first competition, and the rest became history. As of today, my life revolves around fitness. I own my own fitness facility, Body Construct.
Body Construct has been my dream and passion since age of 16 years; I live and breathe my work! Nothing makes me more proud then to see big smile and knowing I helped changed someone’s life.

Introduce us to a day in your remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
During the time when I was training for my competitions, I was balancing a full-time job, and school. I had devoted my life to fitness, making it a priority that held a special place in my life.
As for today, I own my own business, Body Construct. Body Construct is a fitness facility that is catered specifically for women. As the owner, I provide my clients with fitness workouts and assist with nutritional support as well.

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
In my past experiences with fitness trainers, and enduring in varieties of fitness programs, I began to form my own philosophy. I truly believe that differentiating between men and women is crucial for the best transformation. Women’s bodies are structured differently than men’s, therefore, we should not follow a program designed for a man. Women are more dominant in our lower body, and men have more dominance in their upper body. It is ideal to focus in on exercises that best pertain to us. Squats are my number one exercise that I recommend! All of the workouts that I do are only meant for women to complete. I workout at least three times out of the week. Incorporating two workouts of strength training and at least one day of cardio is ideal for my fitness regime.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
As of now, I am on a 90-Day Challenge. This is a nutrition program that I have created. There are multiple clients who are on this journey with me! I was inspired to create this meal plan for working back towards my pre-pregnancy
body. I have a supplement line that I have originated. I have made all-natural protein, meal replacement, detox, BCAA, Pre-Game products that are designed for women! Whether I am on the challenge or not, you will find myself using my products all year long.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your haircare and skincare routine.
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
For my skincare routine, every 6 weeks I go to Pure Skin Spa. They give me a microdermabrasion medical chemical peel and oxygen infusion for healthy, young-looking skin, that’s radiant. Day and Night Yonka products are a daily necessity to aid in moisturizing my face.
As for my haircare, since I have blonde hair, the demand of attention is much higher. Once a week, my sister Andrea Marchese does a Moroccan oil deep conditioning treatment for stronger and healthier hair. She uses a purple shampoo to void any brassy tones to help maintain my ash blonde hair. Andrea has been doing my hair for four years, and recently opened her own salon.

It was an honor being nominated. My business began on the core of wanting to better the lives of women. I have been through fitness programs that have put my health in jeopardy, and I thought that forming my own program would
better myself. Before I knew it, other people requested for my assistance, and it became my business. It started as a love for fitness, and ever since I have begun that journey, my life has changed for the better completely.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us more about your popular venture Body Construct?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
Body Construct is a fitness facility that is designed for women. All workouts are catered and made specifically for a women’s body. Body Construct offers over 90 classes per month, and every workout is different. Throughout the year, my clients will never complete a workout that is the exact same as another. This all women’s gym is not only there for fitness support, it also assists you in your nutritional requests. Most importantly, we are a gym that has turned into a family. We are constantly updating the facility, adding new additions, and bettering our facility to cater the desires of our clients to our best ability. Body Construct continues to strive to maintain a safe, healthy, and family-like atmosphere.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success so far?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
My greatest influence and motivator in my success has always been my husband, John. Our relationship begun in a gym, and to this day, our life revolves around that. He has been my biggest support throughout my entire journey through all of my competitions, and has been my rock in creating and evolving my business.

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fitness trainers who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of fitness?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
The most important concept to remember is that you must love what you do. Yes, you must have heard this plenty of times but for me, this has been my biggest factor that has impacted my entire road to success. It all started with a love that turned into a career that now has become my life. If you love what you are doing, everything will fall into place.
Another key point to know is that you must not give up. There have been multiple times where my business was in jeopardy, but realizing that nothing will take it away from me, was the key to pushing through the tough times, and keep going.
All in all, to stand out, you must find something that makes you different than your competition. Nowadays, the popularity of fitness is rising more than ever, and the competition is unlike any other. In order for you to become a powerhouse, you must find something that makes your business, and yourself, different than the others.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have taken part in so many competitions and won Miss Bikini NY Fitness America, Miss Model NY Fitness America, Miss Bikini New England and many more. What advice do you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such fitness modeling?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
It’s all about the mentality. Seeing yourself already achieving your goals, is the first step to success. Once you visualize that, you will use that and your confidence to push through those training days that seem like they will never end. You must push through the thoughts of you feeling like you aren’t good enough. You must not take a day off because your competition is working that much harder than you. You must have the mindset of a winner. Once you know that you are worthy of achieving what you have envisioned, it will make your goals seem more of a reality.

With the rise of social media, how do you feel that you are able to influence the healthy lifestyle of individuals through the posts that you share online?
Ms. Lori-Ann Marchese:
Social Media has been a key part of my career in the fitness world. I have multiple accounts, and I am constantly using them. This is one of the best ways to interact and reveal your business to as many people as you can. Using social media helps you get out your message and voice on a more accessible and affordable level.
