Lisa Michelle Dixon takes modeling very seriously and love every moment of it. She has done promotional work, print work (catalogs, brochures, posters, billboards, etc.), website features, runway shows, commercials and music videos throughout USA, France, Ireland, & UK. She has one small tattoo on her left wrist and her ears pierced twice. Her nationalities are Cherokee Indian, German, Scottish, & Irish.
At age 12 Lisa Michelle Dixon started taking modeling and acting classes at John Robert Powers. After months of auditions and meetings between Abrams Artists Agency and the Morgan Agency, Lisa made her first big decision as a model/actress to sign an exclusive 5 year contract with the Morgan Agency (to never be sent out for work). She spent 4 more years in classes for Improvisation, Runway, Drama, Comedy, etc. and not only at JRP, but took Drama 1, 2 and 3 at Quartz Hill High School by teacher, David Wright.
In 2005 at the age of 17 years, when conveniently her contract with the Morgan Agency was over, Lisa graduated from high school and started modeling full time. In 2006 she signed non-exclusively with Models International. Even under a signed contract she still finds most of her own work.
At age 20 she signed two more non-exclusive contracts with Barbie Mafia Entertainment and D2 Models for promotional and print work. Barely a year later, Mary Jane Burthe and Lisa Michelle Dixon teamed up as modeling partners for BME and self promotion. Through BME they shot clothing lines and did promotional work for Insomniac Events. In June 2009 they cut ties with BME and signed non-exclusively with Queen E’s Modeling Agency. Within a year and a half of working together Mary Jane and Lisa Michelle worked in Oregon, filmed multiple music videos (Pot Luck, Swollen Members, etc), commercials, shot for Fuzzy Bellas and many other companies.
Near the end of 2009 Lisa Michelle and Mary Jane decided it was time for them to start doing some separate work to improve on the modeling directions they were trying to go. Between December 2009 and April 2010 Lisa had website features (All Access Magazine, Game Room Haven, Maxim, etc), print ads (Overly Green, Dice Electronics, Chris Voelker, Wet Republic, etc), magazines (6 page fashion spread in Live OC | LA | LB Magazine) commercials (NySeas & Mega Daniels Home Center), runway shows (Rebel Spirit Clothing, Coffin Case, Hollywood Million Denim, etc) and two reality shows (Runway Chronicles and Hair Battle Spectacular).
For the rest of 2010 she spent her time working internationally between France and the United States. In the United States, she started shooting with Cutesy Girl Clothing in May, became a spokesmodel for Moda Brazil (Rio2LA) in June, and was on the cover of multiple romance novel covers (Jodi’s Journey by Rita Hestand, The Tulpa Knight by Juliet Cardin, etc) with model, Jimmy Thomas. Lisa can be seen in Maxim’s August 2010 issue as one of the Maxim Hometown Hotties Finalists. In Inked Girls September 2010 issue she was on the inside cover for an ad for Runway Chronicles.
In France, she was featured in a music video for Non Stop “Le Prix de la Chair” (directed by Vincent Giorgetti and also featuring Benjamin Breniere. Produced by Facing Halo) playing a young woman forced into prostitution to help give the man she loved a luxurious living. She also shot the “Lisa Likes Campaign” to help promote French bands. In August, she recorded her first song “Crazzy” under the production of Kal from Kallaghan Studios.
In 2011 she has been featured in the DivaMania Calendar in Berlin, Jimmy Thomas Calendar, and Venstar Calendar. At the end of January she headed back to France to continue improving her modeling and acting with features on EPs/CDs (TBA) and music videos (TBA). She is taking acting classes at Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts.

Lisa Michelle Dixon is an exceptionally talented and highly accomplished model. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You must have started your career in modelling early in life. And later propelled your modelling career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of fashion and glamour modeling and has also was being featured in a number of print work (catalogs, brochures, posters, billboards), website features, runway shows, commercials and music videos.Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
I have been very blessed with my career. I started training at 12 years old. Both of my parents are very tall. Dad is 6’2 and Mom is 5’11. So when I said I wanted to do modeling and acting they were very supportive. They signed me up for classes, helped me go to auditions, paid for my first portfolio shoots and Mom even woke me up every morning so we could go to the gym for at least an hour. When I didn’t grow past 5’6 (2 inches “too short” for fashion) I didn’t let that stop me.
After high school graduation (age 17) I did most of my own management and networking. Found my own jobs because high fashion agents wouldn’t look twice at me due to my height. I entered contests for No Fear, Inc. Which became one of my first publications as a “Hot Chick of the Week”. This lead to Maxim requesting for me to send in photos for their Annual Holiday Hotties publication. I did a lot of free modeling to network and get paid gigs. The more people I met the opportunities I got. Some companies have become like family that I still model for. It’s not an easy road but if you love something this much every difficult second is worth it.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You move from United States to Europe for your professional career. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
I went to France not knowing anything but “bonjour” and “merci” and I was actually very sick when I went. I lived there for three months, then Brighton, UK then Ireland and back to France. Which I repeated for two years. In France I worked on music videos. There was always someone who spoke English and if not my husband at that time could translate for me. I loved experiencing different cultures and seeing such beautiful history we don’t have in the U.S.
If I were to give anyone advice it is most people speak English so it’s not as scary as I thought it would be. Make friends and enjoy it. Learning to be a part of someone else’s culture is a privilege and can open your mind to a whole new world.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are world leading media personality, model, photographer, actress and a brand ambassador. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
Now that I’m older I am definitely moving more into the photography world. Being on set is my passion so I guess managing everything just came naturally. Over the years I’ve signed with agents to take some stress off of my self management. Yet I still seem to find myself making all of my plans and just seeing if their job or audition can fit in my schedule.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
Mom started me out at the gym when I was twelve and I grew up riding dirt bikes. So I’m lucky to have a lot of muscle memory. At the gym I do cardio for twenty minutes. I hear you only need ten but I like to read when I’m on a machine. So I take the time to do it and make my gym experience enjoyable. I’m honestly not a runner but I will do the elliptical or stair master to get my blood pumping.
Then I’m all about light weights at higher repetitions. My shoulders build up very quickly so I try to stay away from those at the gym. As I do an hour or two of yoga in my evenings to unwind before bed which gives my arms and shoulders more of a workout.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
I have an egg allergy. When I went to Europe I was very sick because of my fitness modeling. French doctors decided to do allergy tests and a few other exams to make sure I didn’t have anything seriously wrong with me. Turned out I am highly allergic to egg, white and yolk. I cannot eat any of it. So I was accidentally making myself really sick, in turn losing all of my muscle because my body needed to feed on something. I think it is more important for everyone to get their own personalized eating regimens after having an allergy test done and speaking with their dietician.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
I have the best hair team in the world! Courtney Greenday is my colorist and Rachel Brumbaugh is my stylist. Both of them are trainers at the Toni & Guy academy in Costa Mesa. I started working with them when I came back from Europe and at that point my hair was so damaged. They have managed to teach me some tips and tricks and never over dye my hair and always cut off what is needed and what works with my face.
I love these women! As for my skin, I don’t drink alcohol and I haven’t fallen into any drugs. I drink a lot of water and tea and I eat my three meals a day. I have tried some face washes but they all make me breakout. So now I don’t use anything.

Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
People will say “you’re not good enough”, “you’re too fat”, “you’re not tall enough”, “you’re too skinny”, “it’s not a real job or career path”, “you’re wasting your time”, etc. It is an industry full of wonderful experience and self question. Maybe it’s because I started so young but I don’t take what people say so personally and you never should either.
People in the industry have a specific look they want for a specific job. People not in the industry will never get it. Don’t let others change your mind. If you’re passionate and driven then don’t give up because the more work you put in the more you will succeed. I’m 28 years old and have been told for the last two years by some people in the industry that I’m “too old”. Truth is, I was only “too old” to them. I have had my national ad campaign for Toni & Guy and their Westside Collection and I’m still being interviewed by Women’s Fitness. The only limitations we have are the ones we create for ourselves.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Elaborate about your passion of professional photography and how did it all started?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
My passion for photography began when I decided to study photography to better myself in modeling. It was a moment that my eyes and heart became one. I can finally capture a concept that I have. Instead of hoping someone else can see what I am saying and capture it for me. I have always taken photos at events to remember forever. Good times with family and friends. I was always the person who made people mad because I’d take pictures of everything. I still have all of the photos too. So I guess it’s something I have always loved but now I’m making it into my new profession. My next step.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have done bold photo shoots with a number of print media. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
Every woman should be body confident. It’s never about changing you for someone else. If you love who you are in your heart and in your head then do what is good for your body. Self love is the only guaranteed love on earth. One cannot truly love another or know how to be loved by another if one cannot truly love oneself.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Ms. Lisa Michelle Dixon:
I love that you can find here about exercises, recipes and read about women who have found self confidence in every day life. Thank you so much for having me. It is an honor to have an interview with such a prestigious magazine.
