Katie Gannon: Extraordinary and Multifaceted Personality She Talks about her Fitness Regime and Success Story

Katie Gannon is Glamour Supermodel, Wrestler, Combat fighter, Brazilian jiu-jitsu Fighter, Mixed Martial Arts Fighter, Actress and brand ambassador.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with exceptionally talented supermodel and wrestler Katie Gannon to talk about her fitness routine, diet, skin care, hair care and her incredible success story.

Namita Nayyar:

Where were you born and had your early education? You have a rare personality of mesmerizing beauty with muscle. Tell us more about your professional journey of exceptional hard work, tenacity, and endurance?

Katie Gannon:

I was born in Albany, NY where I went to Albany College of Pharmacy to be a pharmacist. This was a 6 year program that I completed, earning me a doctorate of pharmacy.

Firstly, thank you! I’ve always worked my hardest towards my goals- even though it can be very physically, mentally, and psychologically difficult. My wish is to experience all worlds in this life- the sky is the limit!

Namita Nayyar:

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a self-defense martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. Mixed martial arts, also referred to as cage fighting, no holds barred, and ultimate fighting. You specialize in both forms of as a wrestler and combat fighter. Tell us more about this spectacular achievement of yours and your training for such fights that is very technical in nature?

Katie Gannon:

When I trained MMA/BJJ and wrestling, I would train at least several days a week and a few hours each training day. This was in addition to going to the gym on my own and studying the sports at home. I initially started training BJJ/MMA to supplement my wrestling training, since many of these moves can be used in wrestling as well. I wanted to improve my submission holds and my overall fighting ability to make me a better wrestler. I usually have matches against larger women so I knew I had to “up” my game.

Namita Nayyar:

You are the world-leading social media personality, supermodel, and a health enthusiast, Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter, mixed martial arts wrestler, Actress and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Katie Gannon:

It can be very difficult at times! I also am a fulltime pharmacist! I am able to do this through time management (at times sacrificing my own personal social life) and through eating a healthy diet and taking supplements. I really enjoy staying busy and experiencing all these different worlds; it’s my passion and what gives color to my life.

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Katie Gannon:

I do a bit of everything; I’m always watching videos and reading articles to learn new exercises. I usually train each body part 1-2 times per week for 1.5 hours and perform cardiovascular exercise (my favorite is the stair climber) for 15 minutes after weight training. I also stretch and perform calisthenics at home. Additionally, I have been learning gymnastics. My goal is to be able to do a backhand spring!

Namita Nayyar:

How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.

Katie Gannon:

I usually train abs every day that I train at the gym (at the end of my workout). I pick 3 or 4 exercises targeting different part of the abs and superset them with as little rest as possible between sets. I’ll usually do 12-20 reps of each exercise and 3 sets of each exercise.

Namita Nayyar:

Do you take a special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Katie Gannon:

I competed in bodybuilding starting at age 18, so I have always had a stricter diet. I have loosened up a bit (I don’t weigh out my food or count macros), but I prefer having a higher protein “clean” diet. This consists of chicken breast, oats, and protein powder, lots of veggies, Greek yogurt, lean steak, and egg whites. Every so often I will go out to eat and treat myself if I have a craving. Sweets are my weakness!

Namita Nayyar:

Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep to a minimum.

Katie Gannon:

I love chicken breast, Greek yogurt with cocoa and stevia, sugar free pudding, egg omelettes, and hibachi food! I usually keep sweets and highly fatty or processed foods to a minimum.

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Katie Gannon:

I usually do a super conditioning hair mask a few times a week, and before I style my hair I use some form of heat protectant spray. I also sleep on a satin pillow to keep my hair healthy. For my skin, I usually exfoliate every few days in the shower, then apply retinol, tretinoin, or moisturizer to my face (I cycle these). I also try not to eat greasy foods as I believe this makes the skin oily.

Katie Gannon:

I love Shein’s line of athletic wear and Victoria’s Secret. Those are really the only brands of athletic wear I use!

Namita Nayyar:

Five travel destinations on your wish list.

Katie Gannon:

Switzerland (where part of my family lives), Poland, Ireland, Australia, and Greece.

Namita Nayyar:

You worked as an actress in WJHC AM and Ancestry.Com – Let’s Make Things Weird. Elaborate more about this milestone in your professional life?

Katie Gannon:

That’s when I first started acting, which led me to desire to participate in more. I have done some background work for major TV shows (not allowed to say which ones yet!) and I’m currently working on becoming SAG-AFTRA.

Namita Nayyar:

Tell us more about a day in the life of Katie Gannon?

Katie Gannon:

I usually wake up; go to work for 10 hours, then go workout at the gym till around 10pm. I then go home shower, eat, and watch my favorite TV shows The Real Housewives! I also plan my next day. If I’m off that day I usually am training for wrestling or my other sports.

Namita Nayyar:

You have done bold photo shoots for a number of fashion brands, magazines and on your Instagram handle @kingkatiegannon. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Katie Gannon:

I have had an eating disorder in the past that almost killed me, so I wasn’t always so body confident. But I’ve come to accept myself more and realize that no one is perfect. People must understand that the pictures they see in magazines are photo shopped and no one has the perfect body.

Namita Nayyar:

Your idea of a perfect date?

Katie Gannon:

My perfect date would be my date picking me up in a nice car, opening the door for me, and taking me to a fancy restaurant. Afterwards we would go for a walk and talk, then maybe go back to his mansion (hehe) and give me a back massage lol! I’m a sucker for back massages. Then he’d drop me off home and give me a kiss goodbye…if I let him! haha.

Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding model girls, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of modeling?

Katie Gannon:

My advice is to stay true to yourself. Do what makes you happy and if someone doesn’t support and like what you’re doing then forget them! You will never gain the approval of absolutely everyone so don’t waste your effort on negative people! Also never do something you feel uncomfortable doing; trust your gut!
