Brazilian Supermodel Julia Pereira
Julia Pereira began modeling at a very young age. Her first big break was a cover shoot for Italy’s Posh magazine in 2005. Pereira has worked in Milan, Barcelona, and Paris before transitioning to work mostly in New York and Miami.
Julia is a multi-talented woman who alongwith being a Top Model is also a celebrated Swimsuit Designer. Julia recently appeared at the runway of the Miami Swimweek.
Julia Pereira is world leading model and swimsuit designer. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness. Catch up on her latest secrets!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You began modeling at the young age of 16. Your career took off when you did the cover shoot for Italy’s Posh magazine in 2005. Since then you have modeled for top brands in Milan, Barcelona, Paris, New York and Miami. Tell us something about this incredible modeling journey?
Ms. Julia Pereira: Actually I’ve been modeling since I was 8 years old along with my twins brothers Cassiano and Carla. The three of us are fraternal triplets and we were doing some modeling jobs together at that time.
When I was 15, I was scouted by a big agency that first asked me to move to Sao Paulo and at the age of 16 I started traveling abroad and modeling full time. I’ve lived in Barcelona, Milan, Paris, London, NY, Miami and traveled to many others. Its been a great journey and every job for me is an achievement and a step that counts to build a solid career.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are a world leading media personality, fashion model, swimsuit designer and a brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Julia Pereira: That’s easy for me to manage cause I really love what I do so I always find time to work on it and I have the support of my family and boyfriend.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine which you may wish to share?
Ms. Julia Pereira: I usually work out 4 to 5 times a week.
Doing sports, exercising is something I can’t live without. Its a way of living that not only keeps me in shape but also helps me attaining my inner piece, it gives me more energy, joy, contentment.
I love taking several classes such as jump, body pump, cross fit, ballet, pilates, dance, spinning, among others and I also run and lift weights.
When I have time and opportunity I also enjoy playing tennis and wakeboarding.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Julia Pereira: I don’t like to starve. I like to eat healthy, clean, fresh and work out a lot.
I tend to always have fresh vegetables, green juices, lean protein, nuts, seeds, whole grain food in my meals.
I try not to but sometimes I do eat chocolate, cakes, sweet desserts. When I do it, I work out harder.
And I love coffee. I have a cup once or twice a day.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Julia Pereira: Thank you! I believe it comes first from the inside out so having a healthy diet helps me to keep it that way.
Secondly I like taking care of my hair and skin applying moisturizer, always cleaning my face in the morning and before going to bed. I never go to sleep with make up on. I also have a bunch of skin and hair cosmetics and I really enjoy trying them on.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have traveled across the world for your professional career. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust with the modeling career in a new foreign land, what advice can you give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Ms. Julia Pereira: Try to always see the positive side of everything, be curious and be open to learn about new cultures. Being able to travel the world and getting paid for that is something to be grateful for.
Nowadays with the development of technology we can be connected with the people we love, our family, friends through video calls, instant messages, etc and that gives us more support to keep it going.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Tell us about your current Top 3 Fashion Must-Haves?
Ms. Julia Pereira: Some timeless must-haves for me would be a great pair of jeans , cool classic shades and some well maid, stylish and comfortable pair of black heels.
My current Top 3 Fashion Must Haves are a one shoulder swimsuit, high waisted destroyed denim shorts and wrap-around tops.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have thousands of followers on your social media accounts. How does it feel that you are able to influence the healthy lifestyle of so many individuals?
Ms. Julia Pereira: I really feel grateful to know that somehow I’m able to motivate people into healthy lifestyle. I’m thrilled every time someone writes to me saying that because of my feeds they are having a better quality of life.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were on the cover page of the Shape Magazine. How is it like to work with such an iconic brand that instantly adds the oomph factor to your portfolio, please share your experience?
Ms. Julia Pereira: That was more than a modeling goal it was a life goal so acomplishing it made me even more motivated to keep up my healthy lifestyle. I also shot a few times for Women’s Health cover mag and for one of them I was wearing a bikini from my swimwear collection. When I saw the magazine I was so happy I was jumping with joy.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fashion models, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of modeling?
Ms. Julia Pereira: I believe to achieve anything in life we should put in effort, dedication and work with passion.
Believe in yourself, respect people, be professional and work hard giving always your best.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have done bold photo shoots for Shape Magazine, Billabong, Carmin, Lybethras Bikini Collection, JLo ‘Glow After Dark” Fragrance, Motorolla, Vixswimwear and many more. How are you so body confident and advice to your compatriots?
Ms. Julia Pereira: I’ve built that along the way of my modeling career. I try to always be in shape and take good care of my self but I’ve learned that it is more powerful to love ourselves and to be self confident than really being in the “perfect measurements”. Nobody is perfect and every person has a different beauty.
