You and your sister have also created a clothing brand, NAKED SPECIES. What was the idea behind it? What is the message your brand aims to deliver?
Joy Corrigan:
It was the combination of my love for animals and fashion that led my sister Gina [Corrigan] Smith and I to create Naked Species; ’a clothing brand that offers everyday basics with a modern twist to street style. Naked Species infuses art and awareness into every piece, making “Basics” not so basic.’
When I was a child, I would draw different kinds of clothing and when I’m set on with designers, I ask questions about how and where they do their production. I love fashion and creating all the designs and my sister, Gina is the business side of it.

What are some athleisure brands that you love?
Joy Corrigan:
Alo Yoga, PE Nation, and Wolven Threads.
Namita Nayyar:
Any advice you would like to give to your younger inner self?
Joy Corrigan:
Never give up! It might seem simple, but there have been many times in my past where I’ve wanted to give up.
Namita Nayyar:
Any message for your 691K followers on Instagram? What is the best compliment you have received on a post?
Joy Corrigan:
My message would be: Without your love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So many kind words from friends and fans have helped to push me through all the difficult times! Specifically, my favorite comment is when someone says that my post has brightened their day!
