Jesinta Campbell Miss Universe Australia 2010, 2nd Runner-Up Miss Universe. 2010 and Miss Congeniality at same pageant in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You being crowned Miss Universe Australia 2010 on 17th June 2010 propelled your professional career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of glamour. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Jesinta Campbell:
What a lot of people don’t realize is how young I was when I competed in the Miss Universe Competition. I was only 18 and had no pageant experience whatsoever. I was essentially a young girl who had a simple upbringing in the hinterland of the Gold Coast. The pageant really put me outside of my comfort zone, I’d only just started wearing make up when I was about 17 and I probably only owned one or two pairs of high heels. From the outside looking it in probably appeared like a glamorous experience but for me I was like a fish out of water.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are world leading media personality, TV star, glamour model, style icon, spokesperson and a brand ambassador. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Jesinta Campbell:
My work life is my work life and I try to keep my personal and professional life as separate as possible which can be hard at times. I’ve learnt to manage things by keeping life pretty simple, my time off is spent at the beach or at home relaxing, I always try to find time for myself and indulge with a massage or glass of wine every now and again.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Jesinta Campbell:
I love Xtend Barre Pilates. It’s a combination between Pilates and ballet, it is in a studio that utilizes a bar, small weights and resistance bands. The classes go for about an hour and are set to fast paced music. I combine these classes with PT sessions with my personal trainer Dan Adair at Riley St Gym and regular walks.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Jesinta Campbell:
I am gluten intolerant so my diet is gluten free. I keep things pretty simple with lots of organic fruit and vegetables combined with protein, healthy fats like avocado, olive oil, nuts and seeds. But I do like to indulge so there is always a chocolate bar in the fridge.
