Share your post pregnancy workout regime and diet that help you return back to your physical best? 3 Must-do exercises?
Jandae Percem:
When I was pregnant nausea cut my energy in half and I stopped working out and many moms go through this. It’s hard to break free of this natural state, but it starts with the right mindset. The first few months after pregnancy I felt very hungry and kept eating which I think was caused by breastfeeding. 6 months post partum, I began cutting out unnecessary carbs and sugars (especially snacks and anything processed) and then slowly ramped up my workout regimen. Doing this helped me lose most of the pregnancy weight. Cardio, pull-ups, and squats are my must-do exercises…always keeping good posture throughout!

Tell us about your upcoming projects?
Jandae Percem:
I recently directed and produced my first feature film, “Entity Project”. Now that the post-production of it is done and it’s ready for film festivals, we’re working on another feature film “Under The Snow”. This film will be more art focused to appeal to festival format to bring awareness to the struggles of a teacher who gets relocated to Eastern Turkey in early 90s. The film will show the struggles of the local villagers, especially kids, who walk miles and miles in the snow to reach to the closest school to get education. We have few more projects coming up such as a documentary and a short-film, the short is about the post-portum depression many moms suffer. But it’s too early to elaborate on them.

Your morning beauty ritual before a shoot? Your hair care routine would include?
Jandae Percem:
I follow the same ritual AM and PM for my skin. After cleansing my face and neck area, I apply brightening serum, rejuvenating serum, moisturizer, and SPF. I do this before a shoot too. At night, I do the exact same ritual minus the SPF, but I apply a Vitamin E oil at the end and I make sure that I drink plenty of water all day long which helps balance oil on skin and prevents dryness. For my hair, I use products that don’t have the harmful chemicals and I apply a hair mask once a week. I also make sure none of the products I use test on animals.
