Jamillette Gaxiola is an exceptionally beautiful mexican model and current Miss Cuba Grand International for 2013. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You began participating in local pageants at the age of three years. At the age of eighteen, you competed in Senorita Republica Deportiva 2007 produced by Univision where you were placed 2nd runner-up, this took start your career in modeling and later propelled your modeling career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of fashion modeling and has been featured as a model for numerous magazines. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
It’s been a great journey so far! I’ve been quite fortunate to have some amazing opportunities in my career and I take every job serious. I feel if I work hard that many more jobs will continue to come my way. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a long career for me.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You moved from Mexico to other parts of Europe and to United States for your professional career. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
As a model, you need to be flexible about where you can work. You have more opportunities at your fingertips that way. I’m based in Las Vegas and I’ve had modeling jobs all over the world. It’s great to have a home base though! Somewhere that you can call home, especially after a long flight!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are leading media personality, fashion model, style icon, television star, Octagon Girl on UFC, an active competitor and winner in beauty pageants. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
Thank you! I’m also a daughter, a sister, and a good friend. I keep everything about my life in perspective. This is a career that I’m very grateful to have, but my family and friends are always going to be my ‘lifestyle’ no matter where I’m working or traveling.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You won the Miss Cuba Grand International 2013. Tell us about this memorable experience?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
My mother is 1/2 Cuban, so I was honored to be able to represent my heritage in this competition. It was a surreal experience being there though because it’s frozen in time. The buildings, the cars…you feel like it’s still the 1950s/1960s there. If the embargo is lifted, I’m sure that’ll change.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
I’m all about moderation – From my eating habits to my workouts that consist of some cardio and stretching with light weights. I just like to stay toned and healthy. Luckily, I don’t have to be in the top shape as some of the MMA fighters! I admire the hard work that they put in!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
I like to start my day off with a shot of Cuban Espresso. Lol. Other than that, I’m a healthy eater. I drink plenty of water, high protein meals, but I do like to splurge every now and then. A great desert is my treat. 🙂
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
I wash my hair once a week, so it doesn’t dry out. The Vegas air can be quite drying! I wear lots of sunscreen when I’m outside. Usually when you see pictures of me, I’ve had my hair and makeup done, so that makes everything look better than when I’m just in my everyday ponytail and basic out the door make up.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your experience of working at the prestigious Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as an Octagon Girl on UFC 180, airing on Fox Sports?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
It has been an amazing experience to be the Octagon Girl, transitioning from high fashion runways to being inside the ring with the best fighters in the world. I have learned so much and have a much better appreciation for the sport! I have the best seat in the house. Especially since I have one of the best seats during the matches!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Elaborate on your endeavor of working as a cast member of the hit reality TV show The Shores on the TV Guide Channel?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
We were four young women in the US who traveled to South Africa to work at a company event. The person who was our boss is a millionaire and a big investor. He wanted people with different qualities that could bring something new to his company. We help him with his events. He promoted his businesses with fashion shows and this was also a way to get funds for his organizations. In golf tournaments, he took the opportunity to thank the clients he does business with.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fashion model girls, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in he field of modeling?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
Be willing to start from the bottom and work your way up. You don’t suddenly find yourself at the peak of a career. It’s work, like anything else. There are going to be plenty of other models around you, but don’t compare yourself to their journeys. Your only concern is worry about your career and what’s best for you.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have done bold photo shoots. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?
Ms. Jamillette Gaxiola:
Most photo shoots are a collaboration between the designer, photographer, stylist, make up artist, and creative director. As a model, I’m just there to help visualize their ideas. I’ve been lucky though, as I am able to bring my own input and style to some shoots. You must be comfortable with being in front of a camera otherwise it will show in the final images!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
