Diet
Diet is going to be key here, particularly if you are aiming to see results from your exercise. You need to make sure that you know how to fuel your body correctly so you have the energy you need for whatever lies ahead.
This does not mean that you have to go on the basic bodybuilder’s diet of chicken and rice if you do not want to. There are so many different dishes out there to explore. Even if you do not think you are that much of a cook, you should be able to rustle up some great meals that taste delicious and will get you properly fuelled for your day ahead.
Try to look into meal prep if you know that you are not going to be able to cook as much as you would like. Building up a store of prepared healthy meals means that you will always have something healthy and delicious that you can reach for.
Supplements
Taking supplements can be a fantastic move to make if you want a little boost. We can all often use some extra vitamins C or D, so taking supplements can be a great way for us to get them. Start by looking at some of the vitamins and minerals that you can introduce through your diet, but consider other supplements too.
For example, many people take CBD oils and other cannabis-derived supplements to help with various aspects of their life. You might even try combining cannabis with exercise to see if that affects your training. There are multiple ways to use supplements, and you might have to try several of them to find the path that works best for you and your lifestyle.
Sleep
One of the biggest improvements to your life that you can make is to ensure that you are getting some proper rest. We need to sleep – so much repair work and rejuvenation happens when we shut our eyes. 8 hours is the recommended length of sleep for adults, but you should look at either side of this to see if there is another that might suit you more. Some thrive on 7 hours of sleep, others might need 9.
Try to track your sleep to see how your REM cycle works. There are many different apps and tools that you can use to do so, and it can give you some really interesting insight into how you rest. You should also try to stick to some basic rules such as putting your screens away about an hour before you go to sleep and trying to relax and chill out. These are three key areas that you should look to if you want to improve your well-being beyond simply exercising. Getting familiar with fitness is a great place to start, but you do need to make sure that you engage with some other areas of health and wellbeing if you want to see an overall improvement in your life. There are so many avenues to explore here, and something as simple as learning to cook healthy dishes could be just what you need to improve your current lifestyle! Start making changes now!
