Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were the first Arab model to appear on the cover of an Arabic language magazine in a bikini and were Israel’s representative to the Miss Earth beauty pageant in Thailand in December 2011. Tell us more about this incredible journey of yours?
Ms. Huda Naccache: Well… doing the bikini photo shoot was one of the things most of the models do. In retrospect the media around the world made a big deal from this photo shoot. For me it was just another day of doing what I love – modeling. But I chose to look at the positive side from all that buzz – I broke taboos. And people around the world got to see that it’s totally fine if Arab Christian girl is modelling in a bikini.
The Miss Earth 2011 beauty pageant took place in the Philippines. Because of the floods in Thailand. It was an exciting experience for me and such an honor to represent Israel – one of the 84 countries there. I got to know so many beautiful girls from all around the globe. We experienced a lot of things together. Had so much fun and happily remained in contact and meet once in a while.
