Holly Rilinger is a leading fitness expert. She is an exceptionally talented and accomplished fitness trainer. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You defied all odds with your “anything is possible” attitude and with thorough commitment and discipline realized your greatest dream, a successful Pro Basketball career. Tell us about your journey that took you to the top of the world of fitness training?
Ms. Holly Rilinger:
I knew I wanted to play pro basketball when I was 6 years old. I feel so lucky to have known what I wanted to do at such a young age. No one had to tell me to practice. I loved the game and I decided that I would do whatever it took to make it. It wasn’t an easy road. I failed time and time again. It’s what made me a a great player and it’s what now makes me a great trainer.
If there is one thing I do well, its inspiring and motivating people to be their best. It starts in the spin room or gym and it’s something they take into their daily lives. My dad says I have the gift of knowing exactly the right thing to say at just the right time. He’s right. I know when you are just about to give up. I know when you feel defeated. Because I have been there time and time again. I didnt’ give up and I won’t let you give up either. I will push you to be the best you can be.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How your education and background of BS in Kinesiology/ Exercise Science, AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and as a AFAA Certified Kick Boxing Instructor has helped you in your present profession of Fitness Trainer, Fitness Expert and Fitness Model?
Ms. Holly Rilinger:
Having a degree in Exercise Science sets you apart from the pack. It’s not just a certification it’s and education. I knew I was most interested in sports when I was in college. I wanted to understand how that body works. Continuing your education is the single most important thing a trainer can do.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Share your exercise routine that you do to maintain such a bikini perfect physique?
Ms. Holly Rilinger:
I spin 11 hours per week because I’m a spin instructor. I also follow a weight training program 3-4 times per week. In the summer you can also find me surfing as much as possible. You can find my program BeachFIT on my website. It’s a 90 day program designed to get you a beach body!!!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What is your diet? Do you take a particular fixed regulated diet comprising of nutrients and vitamins to keep you in perfect health?
Ms. Holly Rilinger:
I eat organic all natural foods 90% of the time. I eat well sourced meats, and organic vegetable. I try to stay away from processed foods, sugar, starches and most dairy and grains. Don’t get me wrong. I am all about balance, I love my tequila and chocolate as well. My favorite cheat meal is pizza and spaghetti.
