Hayley Newton is an amazing choreographer and the fitness guru to watch. Hayley’s adventures have taken her everywhere from Los Angeles to London and her fantastic advice is treasured by everyone from Hollywood Execs to A-List Celebs. She is a celebrity personal trainer, choreographer and nutritional expert. She has worked with everyone from Cheryl Cole to Take That, Cliff Richards, Katherine Jenkins to Kelly Osbourne and am currently training the lovely Pixie Lott.
As a result of her background as a professional dancer and fitness expert, she has a wealth of experience and her fitness advice is second-to-none. Hayley has lent her skills to Pixie Lott and choreographed her new fit video which has received rave reviews!
Hayley is not ‘just another fitness professional’. She is creative, adaptable and passionate about what she does. This is highlighted by the way she ‘shakes-up’ her exercise routines and advice to keep her clients entertained, enthusiastic and committed to achieving and maintaining their goals. As well as aerobics and general fitness, Hayley likes to incorporate pole dancing, circus skills, dancing and aerial acrobatics into her routines – keeping them fun, fresh and exciting.

Hayley Newton is world leading and highly accomplished celebrity personal trainer and choreographer of Cheryl Cole, Take That, Cliff Richards, Katherine Jenkins, Kelly Osbourne and Pixie Lott in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your journey that took you to the top of the world of celebrity fitness training ?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
It all started when I was a dancer, and learning what I had to do to stay at the top in my profession on a fitness level. There is so much work that goes into being a dancer and the make-up, costumes and spinning are not even half of it. You have to be physically fit and look beautifully toned and slim to even get hired. After travelling to LA to push my career further I actually fell into the fitness world on a much higher level by accident really. I auditioned for a Jillian Michaels DVD (not really knowing what would be expected of me at the time) and that opened all the doors necessary. From there I hopped from one infomercial to commercial to DVD. Working for trainers who were at their peak of the game I learnt from the best. It was upon my return to the UK that I realised not many people had personal trainers and the same opportunities with fitness as they do in LA. I really wanted to bring over my experience and everything I had learnt to anyone who wanted to listen.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Elaborate how you incorporate pole dancing, circus skills, dancing and aerial acrobatics into your signature exercise routines and training?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
It all depend on what the client wants. Obviously if you want personal training in your house there isn’t probably the use of a pole or aerial apparatus to hand, so therefore we wouldn’t be training in that. But if we were at a pole studio or somewhere where I can hang a hoop, that’s when using these skills really becomes a fun way in training. There is so much strength and core needed to climb up on anything where aerial is used, it can improve your fitness at double the speed out of sheer enjoyment. It something that can get your mind off of the fact you’re actually doing fitness. It’s not for everyone though, and it’s definitely not a walk in the park 😉
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Share your exercise routine that you do to maintain such a bikini perfect physique?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
Well everyday I jog for 20-30 mins with my dog Ashley. She’s a really good inspiration to get out of bed before work because she HAS to go out, and so I always think “well might as well jog along side her”! Also it helps that my fiancé Chris loves to run and so it’s something we can do as a family which always makes things more enjoyable.
Secondly, I concentrate a lot on toning and that’s all done in lifting my own body weight. I really don’t go to the gym as I have everything I need at home with just a mat, some weights and a medicine ball. I try and do a mat class for at least 30 minutes.

What is your diet? Do you take a particular fixed regulated diet comprising of nutrients and vitamins to keep you in perfect health?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
Like any normal person keeping healthy and eating the correct foods all day everyday can be difficult due to my heavy work schedule. I’m a firm believer in “everything in moderation”. I eat carbs, however, try to not eat them for dinner only breakfast and lunch. I treat myself with chocolate, but only on the weekends. I try not to set restrictions that I can’t keep to otherwise it’s unachievable and I’ll lose my motivation to quickly.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
Well I don’t have a crazy hollywood beauty regime that’s for sure. I don’t drink any fizzy drinks or alcohol and so I consume an awful lot of water, I think that helps with my skin. Plus I moisturise every morning and evening.
I’m actually not a big fan of my hair (but thank you for the compliment) and I just use John Frieda for redheads Shampoo and conditioner with a heat protection cream to stop the curlers, straighteners and hair dryer damaging it.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have done bold photo shoots. What advice you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such bold modelling?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
To get up and do shots where you’re wearing half tops and so you’re belly or legs may be out, I’d definitely say you need to do something in preparation before the shoot that makes you feel confident about yourself. For me, it’s upping my fitness workout 2 weeks before it and also putting on a little self tan, getting my nails and roots done. You want to feel more beautiful than you usually would on a regular day, which will give you more of a spring in your step and so the confidence you need to stand in front of the camera and think “Yes, here I am”!

You have acted as a fitness expert and trainer for celebrities Pixie Lott & Janette Manrara. What components do you consider while creating personalised fitness training plan for each of these busy celebrities & clients?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
It is all worked out on what THEY want to achieve. They may have a certain way they want to look for an event, or may even want to be at a particular fitness level for a tour or show that may be coming up. Sometimes it could even be to fit in a dress they want to wear at an awards event. I have to take the lead from them and then create a workout based on their wishes that I feel will suit their cause.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How your experience as a professional dancer helped you in taking the career as a fitness expert ?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
My whole method of training is all derived from my dance background. Being a professional dancer for nearly 15 years for artists such as Take That, Kelly Osbourne, Cliff Richard, Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole etc I have learnt my whole trade in the fitness world mostly through my personal experience in keeping fit and trim. Even other dancers would ask me how I kept my body in shape and it was all heavily due to my dancing workouts that I would plan out for myself. This has followed me right through to todays workout which I teach to my own clients.
