Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar had a candid interview with Eri Anton, Exceptional Fitness Model and Expert where she talks about her workout, diet, hair & skin care secrets and about her blogs on a healthy lifestyle.
Namita Nayyar:
You have performed modern dance and hold a degree in nursing; You are an avid fitness enthusiast and NPC competitor. Later you took to start your career in modeling. This propelled your fitness modeling career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of fitness, fashion, and glamour modeling. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Eri Anton:
Lol, there is no such thing as a fairytale journey for anyone. It is all about hard work, the determination to succeed and being persistent and never giving up no matter how hard things get.
Dance was part of my life at an early age and I worked hard to excel at it because I was good and got recognized for my efforts. That seems to be my mantra all through life as I was always hungry to learn and grow and excel to be the best I could be. Coming here from Mexico I learned if I didn’t work hard for what I wanted, I could have the alternative and that was nothing. So the decision to learn to work hard was an easy one to make. That work ethic remains with me today and those who know me they will tell you I am very driven because failure is not an option for me.
In the end I attribute much of my success to my mum who gave me good genetics and helped me to value myself, thus building in me a strong character which has been the basis for my inspiration and motivation that drive me every day. I love her so much she is my hero and my best friend.
Namita Nayyar:
You have to move to different countries for your professional career. For a fitness model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures, it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Eri Anton:
I love learning about new cultures and really enjoy meeting and connecting with people. I have met some amazing people on my travels and appreciate the service I have received in many locations I have visited. It can be difficult adjusting to changes in time zones and eating new things, but I always embrace the culture and am very excited to try all the foods and to experience the best each culture has to offer. I hope to travel the world more and experience more cultures in the years to come. My advice to others is to find the simple things about the culture like their food and beliefs. It fascinates me how each culture values food and relationships
Namita Nayyar:
You are a world-leading media personality, fitness model, Elite Athlete, entrepreneur, and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Eri Anton:
I have been very fortunate to have a great team of people around me behind the scenes. They take care of so many things related to business, legal, travel, web site, training, etc. I also have some great partnerships with companies who have been great to work with and I appreciate everyone so much who has been there for me in this journey. However even with all the help I still work very long days and it seems it is hard to ever get caught up. It is normal for me to go to bed at 2 am and to not have time to do many things I want to do. But like I always say there is a price to pay if you want to be successful and if you begin to make excuses to not do what needs to be done it will affect the results of what you want to achieve.
Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Eri Anton:
As it relates to exercise I am usually mixing it up. I am part of Team Elite Fitness based in Denver coached by Adam Bonilla. They provide world class support to me in my diet and training through my travel, contest preparation and even during COVID. Depending on whether I am in my off season, doing photo shoots, or in training for a contest they will adjust all aspects of my diet and training to help me stay on track.
I have also learned to be creative with my diet and exercise routine based on what is available to me. When you can’t keep to your regular routine you need to find ways to. Be creative and stay on track.

Namita Nayyar:
How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.
Eri Anton:
Ab training is just like all other training for me and I work the muscle group from many different angles on a regular basis. However the secret to good abs is not just exercise it is a good diet. You can’t have abs with a bad diet and keeping balance and not over eating is key to having abs year round.
I always promote a healthy balance of everything, but when competing or preparing for photo shoots I try to keep to a diet of non-processed foods and will maintain a higher protein and fat diet.
Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Eri Anton:
I try not to have anything special or strict. I like to keep a healthy lifestyle and make room for healthy cheat meals here and there. When you start to deprive yourself of something then that is what you want, so for me balance and eating clean is the key.
Namita Nayyar:
Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep it to a minimum.
Eri Anton:
I love burgers, pizza, chocolate, ice-cream and Doritos with Tapatio, but have to keep them to a minimum even though I would eat them every day. They become some of my cheats when I want to indulge.
When I do eat I usually try to build meals around healthy items I love like sweet potato (which I even wrote a blog about), asparagus, organic chicken and fish.
Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skin care routine.
Eri Anton:
I supplement collagen and biotin is mandatory in my hair care products always. I use coconut oil on my hair as helps it keep its luster and shine. I don’t like to use dies or bleach on my hair; I just keep it natural and let it grow. The less I do the better and too much heat and chemicals are never good. I try to mix up my hairstyles and keep my routine very simple. Sometimes the best ways are the simple ways.
Skin care is very much the same. I try to keep make up to a minimum and many days don’t even wear any make up. I make my own facials and believe you need to take care of your skin. In my blogs I have my skincare routine for people to read about. I share all of my secrets and how I make my facial cleansers naturally. I try to keep my face clean and add natural creams to keep my skin moisturized. My skin care routine is all of my skin and coconut oil is something I use regularly as a moisturizer because of its many benefits.
Five skin care myths.
Well I would say there is no such thing as beauty in a bottle lol. The body is wonderfully made and has the means to repair itself so I think the more you feel you need to do the more you deceive yourself. A healthy diet works wonders for the skin. So here would be my 5 myths:
- Diet isn’t important – don’t underestimate the importance of a healthy diet and your skin. Staying hydrated and drinking water is critical to nice skin.
- Sleep doesn’t affect your skin – sleep and beauty rest is a critical part of skin care.
- The more creams you use the better – I actually think less is more. I think keeping it simple is best and using natural ingredients that are found in your skin are better than any chemicals.
- Skin care is the same for everyone – I think everyone needs to find what works for them and there is not one program everyone should do.
- Using higher sunscreen protection is best. – There are too many harsh chemicals in sunscreens and I think they cause more issues than they resolve. So staying out of the sun would be better in my opinion or keeping it to a minimal amount of sun avoiding the most intense times.
Namita Nayyar:
Five athletic leisure brands you love to wear.
Eri Anton:
-Lululemon fits me well. They have lots of great stuff and so well made.
-Bombshell has been very creative with their designs and styles.
- Nike always fits me well and they are constantly coming out with new styles.
- Adidas I am starting to wear more of as it is coming back into style. They got a little too plain but have started coming out with more new styles and they fit me well too.
- LuxeLife Fit – this is a California based company in Beverly Hills with a line of upscale fitness clothing that crosses over into fashion. Great outfits and really creative.
Namita Nayyar:
Five travel destinations on your wish list.
Eri Anton:
I want to go to Barbados, Thailand, Bali, Samoa and Spain. I actually want to travel everywhere so this is a tough question. Traveling and meeting people are my favorite things to do so very hard to keep this to five places.
Namita Nayyar:
Your website (www.erianton.com) offers fitness tips, where you write blogs on a healthy lifestyle and has a section called Eri’s Fit Kitchen where you create and share your healthy recipes. Kindly elaborate on this endeavor of yours?
Eri Anton:
I love to cook and workout it has been my savior! I have had my struggles in life like everyone and I found my purpose, my passion and myself in healthy living. So I have wanted to share my story and ideas and created my website to be a platform to do that. I have my challenges like everyone or things I want to know so I research and learn. Then when I learned so much I decided to start writing blogs to share what I had learned and writing about it made me comprehend the topic even deeper. When you teach you have to learn at a deeper level to be able to explain it.
I am always experimenting with recipes and making my own healthy version of everything including healthy chocolate. Everything I share I have personally made and eaten and want others to know how good food can be when it is healthy. Our food supply has become so unhealthy and we begin to think that the food is the problem and it is the ingredients. I have made a great healthy pizza and I prefer it over the pizza chains! For me it is all about sharing and learning together. I like to break traditional rules and don’t like to follow societal behaviors as we have become too robotic and don’t see all the possibilities of the healthy life style and how much better you feel and life is when you are healthy.
Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fitness model girls, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of modeling?
Eri Anton:
I think the most important advice I can give people is that you need to find something you enjoy doing and are passionate about. If it is all about reaching a final destination you won’t make it. You have to enjoy the journey and that means learning from your failures and setbacks. Most of my personal growth has come from failing. You fail, learn from the failure and then grow and that is normal so don’t let your failures define you, use them and grow. Always find the positive in life and work to build strong relationships with people who can help you learn and grow and who have the ability to support you.
In the end you just need to be a little better each day and over time things start coming together. The journey is much more important than the destination and don’t tie your human value into what you are doing. What you do does or how successful you are does not define your value. You are amazing now and time will prove that out!
Namita Nayyar:
Your endeavor of Women’s Fitness & Fashion clothing line “Inspire by Eri Anton”- is a class apart. Tell us more about this venture of yours?
Eri Anton:
I am a business woman at heart and I love to design and wear fitness clothing so I created my brand and began designing and selling fitness clothing. This took me awhile to find material and designs I liked, finding someone to make the clothing and ship for me and then to create an online platform to sell them through. Even designing my logo took some time and many people just don’t realize how much work it takes to get something started. It has been a great learning experience for me and I am still trying to make it better.
Namita Nayyar:
You have done bold photo shoots for a number of fashion houses, more than 50 magazines and on your Instagram handle @erianton_. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?
Eri Anton:
I think everyone needs to learn to be body confident no matter how you look. There is too much pressure to look like an ideal and that makes people body conscience. I am a woman and by nature we all have our body issues, but I follow what I say to everyone. Everyone has different genetics and we can’t all look the same. Accept yourself and your differences as you, you are beautiful and complete. Then work on yourself to be your best not trying to look like anyone, but the best version of yourself. Easier said than done I know, our society can be so cruel sometimes and this has created the mindset that we are not good enough. Learn to be accepting of yourself no matter what you look like and then work to get better. How you look does not define who you are or your character and that is more important no matter what label others want to place on you. Even I get judged and labeled by people who don’t even know me. It is sad but I can’t own how others feel that is their issue not mine.
I have also been fortunate to work with many great photographers and videographers who make me feel comfortable when shooting. I did some very bold photos and videos last year with Brett Seeley (@seeleyfoto) who made me feel so comfortable and was very professional. He was super creative and at the same time pushed me to be my best while making it fun. He is one on the best to work with if you want bold and exciting shoots.
Namita Nayyar:
Your idea of a perfect date?
Eri Anton:
Well first I don’t do dates lol. I think that puts too much pressure on the relationship and sets expectations. Perfect for me is just meeting people and connecting at various levels. For me it takes a while to get comfortable with someone and really allow myself to open up and connect at a deeper level. If I can become great friends with someone and feel good maybe I allow it to progress further but it is really hard to say because for me it has to be all about my emotional connection and how the person makes me feel. Once I have a deep connection I will allow myself to do one on one dates and be open for a relationship but it takes me awhile to get there. I am not into superficial relationships so just being friends to me is the perfect start.
Namita Nayyar:
What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?
Eri Anton:
I love the focus on women and I think there should be a lot more of it. Women have different fitness needs than guys and where women are helping other women to be beautiful, accepting of themselves and learning to be their best I am thrilled. So Women’s Fitness I applaud your efforts and more women should be connecting with you and staying current with the your website and articles.
Namita Nayyar:
Today social media plays a vital role in putting your message across to your followers and fans. What is your message for the 1.1 million followers on Instagram?
Eri Anton:
My message is always one of humility and staying humble. I am not sure why so many people support me like they do but I am so thankful and appreciate every single one of them. It is my hope that in their interaction with me they experience my passion and heart and in some way I can make them better people. They have taught me so much and together it has become a special relationship with so many of them who message me regularly and offer so many kind words of inspiration. I try to answer every one of the messages but it is hard if not impossible sometimes.
