Model Elecia Mateo Is All Set To Blast Our Screens With Her Acting Skills!

With a degree in International Relations, Elecia Mateo always dreamt of modeling and this led her to participating, for the first time, in the beauty contest Miss Dominican Republic in 2005, and in 2007 in Miss Dominican World.

In 2013 Elecia went further and produced her first calendar in which she also appeared as a model. Her career continued to grow and in 2015 this beautiful model started to work in the Dominican TV in the successful show ‘El Escandalo del 13’, in which she participated as a talent for one year.

Now Elecia has gone from modeling to acting, where we have already seen her on the big screen. She has participated in projects such as ‘Puesto Pa Mi’, ‘Black Is The New Brown’, ‘Lotman’, or ‘Fantastic’.

With so much more in store for us, lets hear what Elecia has to say about her future plans, fit lifestyle and beauty routine, only on Women Fitness.

NN:

How did modelling happen to you?

EM:

Since I was a child, I dreamt and always looked at beauty pageants. I used to say “one day I’ll be there”, so I decided to participate in beauty contests.

NN:

Best part about being an actress?

EM:

I can be different people without stopping being me, get into emotions and live experiences that I have never lived, that makes me burst with emotion.

NN:

Your favourite workout routine?

EM:

I love boxing and running.

NN:

A healthy breakfast for you includes? What do you like to have for dinner? And on weekends?

EM:

My breakfasts vary from boiled eggs, omelet, oatmeal, sweet potato, I try to include some carbohydrates in the breakfasts to charge the day of energy! For dinner salads or vegetables, chicken breast, fish, seafood. The weekends are my favorites since they are more relaxing and on Sundays I eat what I want!

How do you train your legs to stay fit? 3 Must-do exercises for those killer abs?

EM:

For the legs I love the lunges, many squats, leg extensions, and always change, less weights more repetitions, more weights less repetitions! For the abs I do all kinds of exercises such as lifting legs, MTC, sit ups, etc. But the most important thing is how you eat.

NN:

Describe yourself in 3 words?

EM:

Fighter, risk-taker and happy

NN:

Tip to stay Hydrated?

EM:

It works very well for me to start the day with 2 glasses of water in the mornings. I drink water during my training and I count what’s left! I confess that it is difficult for me to drink water, so I always count what I drink, to make sure I drink 2 liters or more per day.

NN:

Your cheat meal would look like?

EM:

Ooohh! Pizza, pasta and sweets! My weakness are sweets.

NN:

Your favourite activewear brands are?

EM:

I use most of them: Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Babalu, Under Armour.

Social media channel you are updated with? What do you love the most about it?

EM:

What I use the most is Instagram and Facebook! I love the contact I can have with people and how I can get to them and motivate them to be better.

NN:

Fond Memories from your first ever photoshoot.

EM:

I was so nervous I remember that part of my eye was shaking, I was sweating and sweating, we took so many pictures and I didn’t like any of them! Hahahaha.

NN:

Your morning beauty ritual before a photoshoot? Your haircare routine includes?

EM:

I wake up and hydrate my skin with creams because the day of the shoot I don’t drink much water! For my hair, I use natural products and oils made at home.

NN:

After a long hard-working day, you relax with?

EM:

A shower, a glass of wine, sometimes I read and other times I watch Netflix and then go to sleep.

NN:

5 things that you carry before leaving your house?

EM:

My cell phone, charger, my wallet, some makeup, and a snack.

EM:

I love music so much I can’t choose.

How do you create a balance between your work and personal life?

EM:

I love what I do so I do not see my work as work but as part of my life.

EM:

Yes, I have some, like my next calendar and others that are still being discussed.

EM:

I love it. It is a place of motivation that helps many people change their lives! And my message is to always fight for your dreams no matter what others think. With God and effort, and perseverance everything can be achieved.
