Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your current Top 5 Fashion Must-Haves.
Ms. Devon Windsor:
- I love slip-on shoes at the moment. Whether it’s loafers or open toe slides.
- I’m very much into blouses. There’s so many different colors and styles and you can really dress up a pair of jeans or shorts.
- I’m loving belts at the moment. If your outfit needs a pick me up, adding a belt can do the trick and pull it all together.
- I have so many cool slouchy or wide leg pants in different colors. So much more fun to play with rather than black jeans.
- Sunglasses! I have way too many sunglasses but it brings so much sass to a boring outfit.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
With an audience of over 771k followers on your Instagram account @devwindsor, you’re a social media sensation and an internet leading star. How does it feel that you are able to influence the healthy lifestyle of so many individuals?
Ms. Devon Windsor:
Honestly, sometimes I forget how many people actually follow me – I can’t even fathom how many people that really is! I feel it’s important to put thought into every post and promote a healthy lifestyle. I love posting workout photos because I always think that helps motivate people, I know it does for me. And my Snapchat and Insta-stories are always filled with yummy foods (some not always healthy!). I want to show people that you can maintain a body you’re comfortable with while also enjoying the simple things in life, whether that’s a glass of wine or an ice cream cookie sandwich. As long as you workout you can balance those things.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fashion models, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of modelling?
Ms. Devon Windsor:
The advice that I always give to young models is to never give up. You’re not always going to receive a “yes” and everyone is not always going to like you. That doesn’t mean you can’t be successful. You just have to find the people that do believe in you and hang onto them. Modeling is all about creating relationships as well as timing. Timing is hard to control, but if you’re able to create relationships with the people you work with, that will motivate them to book you again and again!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have done many stunning photo shoots for Victoria’s Secret, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Elle and many more. Share with us your 5 tips to totally rock a photo shoot.
Ms. Devon Windsor:
- Be likable. As I just mentioned, it’s important to be likable. When I was younger, I was nervous, so I used to show up on set and be quiet and not myself.
- Be yourself. Over the years I’ve learned to just have fun with it and be yourself. I’m such a goofball and always singing along to country songs and dancing the whole time.
- Listen & take direction. Listen to what the client and photographer want – you have to learn to take direction because sometimes you may be giving off the completely wrong vibe.
- Eat. Make sure you eat a good breakfast and lunch because you are going to need that energy to get through the day.
- Beauty sleep is important! I always say that I need at least eight hours of sleep before a job, and every day for that matter.
