Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with Corrie Yee, an exceptionally talented model and a leading social media influencer, who talks about her workout, diet and beauty secrets.
Namita Nayyar:
As a well-known fashion model, what’s your goal for next year? How did modeling begin for you?
Corrie Yee:
I started modeling when I was a teenager. One of my first modeling gigs was working at a photo booth in Las Vegas, taking photos with the tourists dressed up as the princess of Excalibur. This job connected me with several modeling agencies, which helped my modeling career take off from there. I was able to branch out from doing promotional modeling and started doing runway shows and catalogues.
Instagram has been a major factor with my success in the modeling world. I no longer work with any agencies, and am able to work as a freelance model with Instagram as my “agent.” It was never easy getting to where I am now. There are a ton of sketchy people that work in this industry. One of my goals for next year is to help coach and guide girls who are new to this industry.
Namita Nayyar:
Introduce us to a day in your life. First thing you do once-off your bed.
Corrie Yee:
Every morning I start my day off with a shot of espresso. No sugar added, just plain old caffeine to give me my boost for the day. After that I work out, have breakfast, then start getting hair and makeup ready. I shoot about 3-4 times a week, so I am always getting dolled up. Even when I’m not shooting I try to get dolled up to make some fun Instagram videos at home.

Five exercises that comprise your fitness regime that you may like to share? Time of the day you love to work out.
Corrie Yee:
I always workout at 8 am! If I don’t work out in the morning I won’t work out at all. I do a lot of different types of workouts, yoga is definitely my favorite. Other than yoga I go for morning jogs, hit the weights, and sometimes Pilates.
Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some specific diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit? Five foods that are a big NO in your diet.
Corrie Yee:
I keep a well-balanced diet and try to stay away from carbs. Lean meat and a lot of leafy green veggies are part of my daily diet. However, I always have at least 1-2 cheat days out of the week. Five foods that I stay away from are tomatoes, cinnamon, cooked salmon (I like it raw), liver, and eggs, simply because I don’t like them!
Namita Nayyar:
Having done so many photo shoots, tell us six killer tips for an excellent photo shoot. The secret behind that beautiful smile.
Corrie Yee:
Making sure you are well rested is always important. When I am tired going into a shoot I feel like you can see it on my face. The camera doesn’t lie! Always pay attention to detail, especially your hands and feet. Try to create an S like shape with your hands; they should never be completely straight. Another tip that helped me when I first started shooting was to always make sure you point your toes! The pointier the better.
Facial expressions are also extremely important, laugh, smile, stare off into space, switch it up! Creativity is another important part of shooting. Sometimes I have these ideas that may seem crazy, but after I see them in photos they turn out to be my favorite shots. Don’t be afraid to express yourself. Lastly, have fun!

Your hair and skincare routine? Skincare routine before returning to bed.
Corrie Yee:
My skincare routine consists of taking off all of my makeup and then using Laneige moisture cream, along with Shiseido eye cream. I only wash my hair twice a week because I have a ton of hair. Every time I wash it I use a deep conditioning conditioner and leave it in for about 5 minutes before washing it off.
After that I blow it dry and I am ready to go.
Namita Nayyar:
Five destinations that you love to visit or have enjoyed visiting professionally.
Corrie Yee:
One of my favorite places that I have been to is Bali. Bali is not only beautiful but the culture is amazing. The locals are incredibly nice. Another one of my favorite places to visit is Thailand. Thailand is similar to Bali, but still very different. Hong Kong, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas are also some of my favorite countries to visit (especially for photo shoots).
