Christina Chitwood exceptionally accomplished Figure skater and Ice Dancer in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitnes
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are world leading Ice Dancer, Figure Skating coach, choreography, an author, fitness specialist and motivational speaker. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Christina Chitwood:
My desire is to maintain a full life, help as many people as possible, and use the potential God has given me. I do have a very busy lifestyle, so exercising and eating healthily are key for me. I keep myself focused with goals and action plans. It’s also important to reward yourself. Some of the ways I like to reward myself are by relaxing with my husband, spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, or even finding a new workout top!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Christina Chitwood:
I use my expertise in fitness to create varied routines to continue to challenge my body. I combine strength training, Pilates, dance, yoga, cardio training, and stretching. I also love using my Power Plate. My husband, Tom, and I have fun challenging each other in fitness and creating new experiments. It’s great for our bodies and our brand, Fit Body Full Life.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Christina Chitwood:
I’ve created a specific nutrition plan that keeps me feeling at my optimum performance level. It is a vegetarian diet that’s gluten-free (except Ezekiel Sprouted Bread), dairy-free (except for whey protein and Greek yogurt), and sugar-free (including all fruit, natural sugars, a very small amount of honey or agave nectar, and avoiding other sugars). I do believe in finding what suits each individual best. I also believe in moderation. So, I do allow myself certain days every now and then to have goodies I don’t normally have.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Christina Chitwood:
Thank you! I drink vegetable juice and eat healthily. I feel that what you put into your body reflects in your skin ultimately. I cleanse my skin morning and night as well as use Glominerals makeup. My mom raised me to protect my skin with lots of sunscreen, which I continue to do.For my hair, I always get the deep conditioning treatment at my hair appointments every 8 weeks. Again, I feel how you treat your body and what you put into your body shows.
I typically blow-dry my hair with round brushes after a wash and use a straightening iron on second-day hair. I protect my hair from too much heat by alternating heat tools instead of using both each day. I also avoiding using heat by braiding my hair or wearing an up-do.
