A very Happy International Women’s Day to everyone! Today, we bring to you an exclusive conversation with the Fitness Expert, brains behind the successful website Fitness Fondue, the one and only Chloe Madeley.
Chloe is an English television presenter, freelance journalist, model and fitness expert. Having started her career with a stint presenting Big Brother’s Big Mouth, Chloe soon shot to fame, since her talent and skills were hard to miss. She then went on to appear as a contestant on the skating show Dancing on Ice, where she came third.
A keen fitness enthusiast, Madeley has trained and worked as a personal trainer and fitness instructor alongside her media work. In July 2013, Madeley launched FitnessFondue.com, a fitness and nutrition advice website in which she regularly posts tips, advice and her own success stories.
Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness, recently had the wonderful opportunity to join Chloe Madeley in an enriching conversation on her life as a television presenter, her love for fitness and some other things that are close to her heart. Lets check this one out!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You came to be noticed during a stint presenting Big Brother’s Big Mouth with your brother Jack. Since then, you have done numerous modelling shoots (including one with FHM magazine) and TV shows. Share with us your journey in the field of entertainment to making a mark for yourself?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
I left University after a year because I wanted to get a jump start in the world of TV. I was sure that was where I belonged and what I should be doing. I worked in TV for 4 years, starting as a junior runner and working my way up to senior researcher.
I often did novelty gigs in front of camera, being my parents’ daughter, opportunities like that always cropped up, and I took them willingly. However, it wasn’t until I was in my mid twenties that I discovered weight lifting, and my entire life changed from there.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
In a recent interview, you spoke about the role of fitness and how it helped you to conquer your mental health issues, forged your own personal training career, and cut loose from depression. Depression is a common health concern in today’s time, share with our visitors the role of fitness in fighting it?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
When I was in my early twenties I began to struggle with anxiety. As the years passed, the anxiety attacks became full blown panic attacks. After a nasty breakup, I found myself struggling with depression. I was lucky when, at the age of 25, I found what I wanted to do with my life, which was work in health and fitness.
Not only did that finding my ‘why’ alleviate much of the stress and angst I was battling with on a daily basis, but I was lucky in that my ‘why’ turned out to be SO physically, emotionally, hormonally and mentally beneficial.
Training hard, implementing daily structure and discipline, finding my passion, all of these things pulled me out of my lost mindset and pushed me into a mindset of strength, capability and certainty.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are a world-leading media personality, television presenter, freelance journalist, model and fitness expert. Provide us a glimpse into a day of your remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle.
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
My life is very boring! I wake up early, I train at the gym, I drive home, I eat breakfast, and I get to work on my laptop!
I sit and work all day long, some days, usually once or twice a week, I will have to drive into London for meetings, media or photoshoots, but that is as adventurous as it gets!
Sometimes on the weekend I will attend my boyfriend’s rugby games, which is great fun, but I rarely go out on the town anymore, it just doesn’t sit well with what I do now.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
With a slim line physique that you possess, it seems staying fit is a integral part of your lifestyle. Unfold the exercises that comprise your fitness regime on a daily basis?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
I usually get up early, eat breakfast and head to the gym for a weight lifting session followed by some cardio. I train upper body 3x weekly and lower body 3x weekly, and have 1 full rest day a week.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Proper nourishment is equally essential to stay healthy. Enlist your 5 favorite snacks options?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
I snack on:
- Rice cakes
- Nuts
- Protein bars
- Greek yoghurt
- Salads
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Working in front of the camera calls for use of a lot of make-up. What is your skincare and hair care routine & tips for our visitors?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
I use Clearasil rapid action face scrub every day because my pores get clogged training and it’s a great daily exfoliator and cleanser. I use bio oil every day to keep my skin hydrated. I rarely wash my hair and when I do I use Provoke touch of silver to keep it blonde.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You recently released your Fitness book, The 4 Week Body Blitz. Introduce us to this book and what makes it unique?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
The Blitz is a body transformation guide that requires you to eat all day long and train 5x week in order to change your body in a healthy way.
It is the result of 6 years of clients and photoshoots requiring short turn around body transformations, so it is tried and tested and works wonders. I am so proud of it and so happy that I have signed on to write the second book!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
With a massive following of over 177K followers on your Instagram account @madeleychloe you’re a social media sensation and an internet leading star. How does it feel to be a role model & an inspiration in influencing a healthy lifestyle of so many individuals?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
When I started out, I looked at my health and fitness idols and wondered if one day I could ever have a body or a following like them.
Now that it’s happened, it feels alien to me. I am so grateful to every single one of my followers for trusting me, supporting me and engaging with me. It feels, to be honest, quite amazing to me on a daily basis.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
In July 2013, you launched FitnessFondue.com, a fitness and nutrition advice website in which you regularly share tips and advice. What would be your smart tips for a fitness enthusiast (beginner), who wishes to tone her body?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
If you are a beginner, find ANY exercise you enjoy, be that yoga, pilates, weight lifting, swimming, anything you enjoy. Start by exercising 4 days a week minimum, for 20 minutes minimum, and try to work your way up from there.
Understand that there are 3 macro-nutrients that should make up your daily diet – protein (animal sources like chicken, fish, red meat and dairy), fats (dairy, fatty meats, nuts, avocados, eggs, oily fish and oils), and carbs (fruit, veg, starches and grains).
Understand that veg should be ever present, protein should be your dominant macro, carbs should be had pre and post workout, fats should replace carbs at all other times.
Understand that calorie control is key. This does not mean you have to count calories, it means you have to be mindful of portion sizes. Keep them in check.
These are the rules, follow them and you will not go wrong.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
In 2011, you participated in the skating show Dancing on Ice, paired with French skater Michael Zenezini and reached the final three in the competition. It was a treat to watch you on the show. Share with some memories from the show.
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
I loved DOI. I got to learn the most amazing skill and I got to meet the most amazing people and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life.
I wish I could do it all over again!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Though social media has boosted millions of opportunities for most, we cannot deny the impact of cyberbullying prevailing online. You have been outspoken against cyberbullying and trolling comments that you received online on national television. What would you like to say about that? Also, how should girls and women handle such cases?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
I think if you are using social media to benefit your life – in terms of your business, dating pool, or social life – go for it. I use social media as my business and brand PR platform and it’s greatly beneficial to me.
But if social media does not play a positive role in your life, don’t go near it. I say this because you are lifting the curtain on a side of human nature that has, until now, been quite well hidden, and it is quite a thing to have to come to terms with to be honest.
The anonymity of the internet has given people the gateway to be cruel, intensely negative, threatening and bullying. If you don’t benefit from having it in your life, it’s not worth it.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Women Fitness works relentlessly with a goal to reach out to women all over the world providing them with best in health, fitness, nutrition, beauty & fashion. What do you wish to say about the website (Womenfitness.net) and message for our readers?
Ms. Chloe Madeley:
Remember that health and fitness encompasses your mental, emotional, physical and medicinal health. Keep aspiring to tick all the boxes, but enjoy the process.
Don’t feel stressed or unworthy when you can’t cross off the entire list, instead, pat yourself on the back for trying and learn as you go. We are all trying our best, nobody has it all figured out despite what they may tell you 😉
