Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You moved to Los Angeles from El Paso, TX at an early age of 15 years to pursue acting. Tell us about your journey that took you to where you are now in the world of acting, fashion and modeling ?
Ms. Cara Santana:
As a little girl I was always attracted to the idea of “make believe” and the ability to create a new type of “reality” for my make believe characters. I loved bringing to life a full person and pretending to have another life. Naturally, my parents put me into theater camp and the progression began. I was accepted at 15 to a performance art high school, Idyllwild Arts Academy and attended.
Shortly after, I finished school and moved to Los Angeles, where I started to pursue my career full on. Fashion came as an extension of the idealism of creating characters. Having the ability to express who you are, by what you wear, which is the first way we are perceived, fascinated me. I could tell you who I am, by how I looked! And there began my love for both my passions of acting and fashion.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have selected a profession of being an actress, into fashion and beauty that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Cara Santana:
Focus. Being willing to hone your skills; be it in classes, reading books, exercising, etc is of then upmost importance. I think having the sensibility to work hard and keep your eye on the prize (so to speak) best prepares you to succeed.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Cara Santana:
I’m a huge proponent of the Tracy Anderson Method. It’s a mix of Pilates and aerobic style exercise combined with cardiovascular work all at 80 degrees! The technique really keeps me fit and it’s also fun. You can do it in a hotel room, at home, or in a gym! I love it. I try and stay active otherwise by hiking and being outdoors. All of that helps!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Cara Santana:
When it comes to diet, I don’t have any limitations. I don’t like to deprive myself of anything. I’m sensible and always have been. I have a strong appetite, but am also driven to healthy food as well. I like it all. I’d say moderation is obviously important, but I think if you exercise and allow yourself to eat what you want, you’re fine. It works for me anyway!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Cara Santana:
I never sleep with make up on!!! I always take my make up off at night! First and foremost! Secondly, I stay with what’s tried and true: Cetaphil. You can get it at any drugstore and I wash my face and moisturize with it. Nothing fancy. Keep sunscreen on during the day is key as well. You don’t have to break the bank to keep your skin looking “fresh”.
As for my hair, I like to keep away from sulfates. I use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and try to limit the amount of heat I put on it. If I don’t have to, then I’m fine going all natural!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words for our inspiring and budding women models and actresses who all are your fans, what should they do for their climb to the ladder of success in field of acting and fashion?
Ms. Cara Santana:
One, you have to love it. And two, be willing and expect to work hard. Study everything you can to gain as much knowledge in the field as possible. Read about the techniques: Stanislovskly, Uta Hagen Miesner. Take classes. Perfect your craft. If fashion is your love, learn the history, know the designers who have shaped the transition through history. Take all you can in! And don’t give up!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are leading media personality, model, fashion expert and an actress. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Cara Santana:
Gratitude. I’m not sure if I’d consider myself as a “leading” anything. There’s so much more I want to do. I haven’t even begun to climb my proverbial mountain. However, being happy with what you have, when you have it and appreciating that, is key. If you’re constantly in a state of gratitude, then you’re open to having more. I always say to myself “Gratitude Not Attitude”.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You were selected as one of the “Five Best Dressed at 50 Most Fashionable Women Of 2013”, the event you attended at The London Hotel in West Hollywood by moejackson.com. How do you feel on this achievement of yours ?
Ms. Cara Santana:
I love fashion. I like expressing myself and playing with ideas. And if other people like it, then that’s great!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your inspiration and motivation that led you to your success in the world of acting, modeling and fashion?
Ms. Cara Santana:
There have been so many people who have inspired me or motivated me and taught me.
My third grade teacher, Brenda Morrow. She taught me work ethic and focus. My mom, who showed me as a woman you CAN have it all: career, family, love. My Dad who no matter what shows humility and graciousness. And my grandfather who came from nothing; an immigrant’s son, and went to college, had a beautiful career, married the love of his life, traveled the World, raised his family and did it with zest and love for life.
I take all of that with me. I’m inspired by them and so many other people in my life.

Ms. Cara Santana:

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have been associated with and your fans look forward to your public appearances, for the ultra-fashionable dresses you wear, who are your dress designers or do you give your personal inputs to make you look so stunning ?
Ms. Cara Santana:
I don’t work with a stylist and I allow my mood and my frame to dictate my style. I like to take risks and have fun. It’s an art! I take inspiration from what I see out in the World and I enjoy the process of creating a look from head to toe. That’s what fashion is about: self expression!
