In her interview with Namita Nayyar, President, Women Fitness Caprice Bourret shares input on her morning ritual, diet, exercise routine and charity.
Namita Nayyar:
A healthy morning ritual that you follow?
Caprice Bourret:
I always try and meditate in the mornings. It really helps prepare my mind and body for the day ahead. It is a great focusing tool too! I always have a green juice and take my vitamins. I don’t eat a big breakfast as I believe that you should give your body a break… if I do have a late breakfast I love scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. Oh and of course, I have to fit my mediation around my kids who get up ridiculously early!
Namita Nayyar:
You are often referred to as ‘one of the most photographed women in the world’. What are your 5 key aspects for a great photo shoot?
Caprice Bourret:
I only have two rules when it comes to professional photo shoots…. great lighting and retouching! If you have this combination, then your photo shoots will look incredible.
Namita Nayyar:
Share the best part of the job as an actor?
Caprice Bourret:
I love the fun part of acting out a character. It is like when you really enjoy a good book but with acting you are actually acting out the character in person. It is so interesting! I also meet lots of talented and fun people who are friends for life.
Namita Nayyar:
Exercises that are an integral part of your workout routine? Five must-do morning stretches?
Caprice Bourret:
I love Barrecore workouts which I do 6 days a week. During lockdown I am joining a live class and it has totally transformed my body. It targets your muscles with carefully choreographed low-impact movements.
There is a lot of repetition and restorative stretches. I do,
- Leg pulls
- Planks
- Leg lifts
- Ab crawler
- Dead bugs
and much more!

Namita Nayyar:
Meal before and after a workout?
Caprice Bourret:
I juice first thing in the morning and then I will wait until lunchtime when I eat a vegan salad with pulses and basmati rice.
Namita Nayyar:
Favorite meal of the day? What does it contain?
Caprice Bourret:
In a dream scenario I would eat pizza with double cheese and jalapeno peppers and more cheese, however, in the real world….. I prefer to have a larger lunch and always cook fresh.
My favourite is a Thai infused veggie salad. The variety of different tastes is so refreshing and nourishing. Sushi is also one of my favourites but that is quite hard to make yourself. I also eat a lot of fish such as lemon sole.
Namita Nayyar:
Top three healthy snack options? One diet secret you would like to share with WF visitors?
Caprice Bourret:
- Energy balls from Whole Foods.
- Pop chips in sea salt or sour cream – I eat a whole bag in one sitting they are so tasty
- Chia seed pudding – almond milk and chia seeds. I make one batch and it can last a whole week in the fridge. It helps you release energy slowly and fills you up. Plus it is so yummy.
One secret – You can eat whatever like in the daytime but shut it down at 5 pm. If you have a dinner make it light and try and stick to a protein based meal.PAGE BREAK
Namita Nayyar:
How do you feel if you were to do motherhood all over again, would you have kids later on in life?
Caprice Bourret:
No, I was very naive to think it would be so easy to have kids in my late 30s or early 40s. If I was to do it all over again, I would definitely start earlier. I am symptomatic however as women have it tougher. We are just getting our careers going.
It is important to find Mr right and not compromise. But everything ended up turning out great in the end.
Namita Nayyar:
Your skin & hair care routine? Five tips for healthy skin.
Caprice Bourret:
Keep it minimal. I drink loads of water and use a derma roller every day on my face to plump it up and stimulate skin repair. It is so amazing! After a few hours my complexion looks so refreshed and dewy.
High quality vitamins is also key to feeling good on the inside and the outside. You need to stay healthy as vitamin deficiency can cause all sorts of problems and issues. I also make sure I get plenty of sleep and stick to an organic vegetarian diet.
Namita Nayyar:
As an avid philanthropist, you have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities and are a patron to Woman’s Trust and Brain Tumour Research, Tikva, Jewish Care. Share with us how are these endeavours close to your heart?
Caprice Bourret:
Some of these charities are very close to my heart from, either personal experience, such as with Brain Tumour Research, or to help my local community with Woman’s Trust.
With Brain Tumour Research, for obvious health reasons, I have a huge personal connection here.
I also feel very strongly about supporting other women and not tolerating violent or volatile relationships or situations.
I am very supportive with various children’s charities. I have become much more sympathetic now having had children and also believe it is our responsibility to nurture and protect and guide them until they can do so on their own.
Namita Nayyar:
