Antonia O’Brien is world leading and highly accomplished Fashion stylist, TV Presenter and writer in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have selected a profession of fashion that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
I love working hard because I feel very lucky to have such an exciting and diverse job; I also have an amazing agent, publicist and business partner who keep me on the straight and narrow.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You started your fashion broadcasting career in 2008 as the face of my-TV, the online channel for luxury retailer my-wardrobe.com, then your professional career propelled to the height where you have been leading the world of glamour and fashion in TV channels, luxury fashion labels, and leading print publications. Tell us a bit more about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
How I got to the position I am in now is a great story because it was a mixture of luck, hard work and being in the right place at the right time. Whilst I was working at my-wardrobe.com I filmed a TV for Grazia magazine about fashion blogging and then, amazingly, that video was seen by a producer at ITV. Off the back of that video I was asked to come in and cover the live feature on the Lorraine morning show and I then worked there for two years, it happened really fast. Further down the line I signed with Becca Barr Management and under their guidance I have had some terrific jobs, like covering the red-carpet fashion from the BAFTAs and Oscars for both Sky and E! Entertainment alongside brilliant presenters like Dermot O’Leary, Fearne Cotton and Amanda Byram.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises make up your fitness regime or workout routine?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
I love fun, fast and high-impact workouts where I can really push myself and sweat out any stress and everyday worries I may have. Body conditioning, body pump and circuits are my favourite, even if I am on my knees in pain at the end of a session.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
I don’t have any strict diet at all, I love healthy body nourishing food like seafood, green vegetables, fruit and nuts however I have a seriously sweet tooth and couldn’t live without chocolate, but everything is okay in moderation, right?

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you have any advice or motivational words for our inspiring and budding women and fans starting out in the industry? What should they do to get their step in the right direction, or to help climb to the ladder of success in Fashion Industry?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
It is important in every industry to keep a sense of humour and be kind to yourself, there can be some real peaks and troughs so enjoy the highs and try not to be too disheartened on the lows. Also, just remember that those who you look up to have bad days as well, no one has it all sorted. And of course stay positive, it is a cliché but I am always trying to see the good and positive in situations.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it healthy and glowing? and secondly what you do to your hair to make it look so stunning?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
I have been a devout Dermalogica fan since I was a teenager and always use their Microfoliant to polish my skin. For hair I always use John Frieda, they have the best products to give your hair a volume boost.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What do you think is the main “colour” trending for Summer and Winter of 2014 would be?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
For me, spring/summer ’14 is about embracing brights and being brave; why not wear a mono-coloured outfit for a sharp evening look? Or if you are more minimal, tonal shades of cream and white look fresh and chic when wore top-to-toe. Sporty luxe is a sleek style that everyone can tap into via a silky bomber jacket, pleated mini skirt and trainers (if you can’t stretch to Chanel, go for New Balance.)
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What dresses are fashionable to wear for women in casual dressing and in party or formal dressing in present season?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
Fit and flare dresses (those that fit at the waist and then flare out to the knee) are such a flattering cut and great for creating the illusion of a smaller waist; choose one in a bright colour for spring like emerald green or tangerine orange.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have worked with top brands like Monica Vinader, Ugg Australia, Very.co.uk, Blake London, FCUK, and the charity Fashion Targets Breast Cancer and so forth. What has been your experience working with these top brands and what is your advice to younger generation who wish to work with them ?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
When working with a brand it is important to know what it is they are working towards and also make it your business to know everything about the brand, past and present. Whether it be a fashion brand or charity, communication is of paramount importance so make sure you keep everyone you are working with up-to-date with your ideas and progress.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are leading women TV Presenter, fashion stylist writer, Fashion Expert, model and business women. How you are able to manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional, multi-faceted lifestyle?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
I have learnt so much about myself and running a business since I co-founded style consultancy Bees & Taylor with my friend, stylist Emily Giffard-Taylor.
There is always more to learn but I try and keep everything under control and in order, try; every day is a school day.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?
Ms. Antonia O’Brien:
As I am writing this it is International Women Day and I am so proud to be a woman; with strong women like Cate Blanchett, Clare Blading, Beyonce and Michelle Obama pushing women roles and rights in today’s world, it is a great time to be a woman.
