Stunning and savvy, Antje Utgaard is taking new media by storm as “A Gift from the Instagram Gods” a title endowed to her by MAXIM, and dubbed the “Next Kate Upton” by PLAYBOY, this Scandinavia beauty and major social media influencer has a solid following of 980K and 3.5 million loops on Vine.
Antje has an electric drive and passion, and her own creative energy is the brilliant force behind the ideas for all of her photos and videos. Beyond her thriving modeling career, she is developing a highly anticipated video series, featuring behind the scenes look at her doing what she loves including, make-up and beauty tutorials, work out segments and comical sketches.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Antje grew up in Star Prairie, Wisconsin a town of 500 on her family-owned hatchery; where she and her siblings were known as the “Utgaard Chicks.” After the recession in 2008, Antje chose to enroll in Minnesota State University where she studied marketing and international business. It was there, she found her initial love in dance and toured with the Radio City Rockettes. While touring, she realized becoming a professional dancer was not her final destiny and discovered another passion in college after winning a local contest for modeling.
From there, her Instagram following began to grow by the thousands and Antje knew that she had a definite new career path in front of her. After moving to Los Angeles, she began to rapidly expand her social media empire including Vine videos that have amassed over 3.5 million loops and she is just getting started.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are an extremely popular social media influencer with over 1 Million followers on Instagram. Walk us through your incredible journey and tell us how it all began?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
It all began when I was a junior in college at the University of Minnesota. It was game day and so I was all decked out in my Gopher attire so I was taking my fair share of selfies and a friend of mine screenshotted one of them and sent it in a big account that posts “Hot college girls” on game days. Without me knowing they had done this, I looked down at my phone and my notifications were going crazy. I gained my first thousand followers that day and from there on out I just started taking more pictures of myself and people started to really like them so I got more into modeling from there and the rest is history!

Introduce us to a typical day in your life.
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
Every day is different! That’s my favorite part about my life. It keeps it interesting and keeps me on my feet. Some things I do keep in my everyday routine are my workouts. I make sure I hit the gym or do some type of physical activity every day, even if it’s just for 30 minutes. I also make sure I interact with people every day and do something social that allows me to connect with new people or learn and experience something new. That way I am continuously growing and getting my name out there.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are a social media influencer, model and an upcoming actress too. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
To be honest with you, it’s absolutely chaotic! I’m always on the go and stay pretty busy, but I love it. It’s all about finding a balance and time management. I also always make sure I set some time aside for myself to just relax a few times a week.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine? Also, share with us your fall fitness routines.
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
I lift weights 4 or 5 days a week. I focus on one or two muscle groups at a time and make sure to alternate them so they have time to recover throughout the week. Before I lift I warm up by walking at an incline for 5-10 minutes, then I lift for about an hour, and I always end my workout with running in intervals for 5-10 minutes. I also Soul Cycle 3 times a week, which is my new obsession.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
My diet is pretty laid back. If I have something big coming up I’ll obviously be more strict on myself but it’s also hard when you have my lifestyle and travel a lot. I try to eat as healthy as I can on a regular basis though. I always make sure to eat a lot of protein, mainly chicken and other lean meats. I also make sure to drink plenty of water!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Give us your Top 5 Haircare and Skincare Tips to be Insta-Ready!
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
Dry shampoo is like my savior as far as my hair goes and I get a blow out at least once a week to keep my hair nice and healthy. I also always rinse my hair with cold water to give it a healthy glow. As far as my skin goes, I make sure I wash it every night. I also make sure I moisturize day and night to keep the skin soft and give it the oils it needs.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You took the media by storm when MAXIM endowed you with the title “A Gift from the Instagram Gods”, and PLAYBOY dubbed you as the “Next Kate Upton”. How did you feel after receiving such spectacular titles?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
I felt very honored and flattered. Both are such amazing titles but I also want to be known as being the first Antje Utgaard and not the next someone else.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
We would love to know about your future plans about modeling, acting, etc. What are you working on for the future?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
I want to do some more print work for modeling but mostly I’m trying to transition into acting now. I want to focus on comedic acting mostly. My plans are to continue to grow my name and my brand and hopefully get a role in a popular sitcom.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Give us your Top 3 Tips to be “Insta-Famous”.
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
Have a branded page, clean and clear pictures (make sure they make sense to have on your page), collaborate with people.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What are the key points to keep in mind while shooting a video for a blog or social media (Youtube)?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
Make sure you have good lighting, keep it interesting and to the point, people like laughing and learning so if you can tie in both into your vlog then you’ll be set.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
With an audience of over 1 Million followers on your Instagram account @awesomeantjay you’re a social media sensation and an internet leading star. How does it feel that you are able to influence the healthy lifestyle of so many individuals?
Ms. Antje Utgaard:
It’s an absolutely amazing feeling! To have a million people who are interested in knowing what I’m up to and seeing me every day is insane to me. Two years ago someone asked me what my goal was on social media and I told them 50K, now I’m at a million and growing and it just blows my mind. It has changed my life for the better. I enjoy influencing so many others and I appreciate everyone’s love and support throughout my journey.
