Anicia Bragg unveils her workout, diet and fitness secrets in an exclusive interview with Namita Nayyar, President – Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were born in a small southern town but your love for fashion took you to many places. You’ve been a columnist for Viva Glam Magazine and a contributing writer for Jet Set Magazine. You’ve also featured as a TV host for HD Video Hollywood, interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. Tell us about this incredible journey and how it all began?
Ms. Anicia Bragg: My mother encouraged me to read and she would get me yearly subscriptions to all the fashion magazines. So I grew up as a teenager fantasizing about having the beautiful clothing and the life style that I would have in the future. I began modeling at eight years old in the southern region for local department stores and appeared in print ads, and then started doing TV commercials at age sixteen with a local TV station (WKPT-TV). Luckily, they liked my work and got me in numerous spots, more work and bigger opportunities. Along the way, a talent agent got me more work in the southeastern US. You would be surprised what you can manifest in a small town when you have big dreams.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are an Entrepreneur, TV Host, Author, Interior / Fashion Designer, and Model. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Anicia Bragg: I would say that I am a serial entrepreneur and non-apologetic capitalist. Being a Leo sun sign with a Leo rising, I was born extremely ambitious, so it’s in my DNA. My parents were hard working people that reared me to have a great work ethic and the importance of relationships, both personally and professionally. I think every job, every experience and every relationship has taken me one step closer to where I want to be on a personal basis and career wise. I am eager to learn and expand my skill set, yet remain humble and thankful to many mentors along the way. I am a multi-tasker and if I am not doing 5 things at once, I get really bored. I prefer working and staying busy all the time.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?
Ms. Anicia Bragg: Life is about a healthy lifestyle and running is my staple and whether on the street, in a park or on a treadmill, I need to get in a 2-5 miles a day. I sometime head to the beach for a 10 mile walk and jog combo. When I have time and I am in town for months at a time, I prefer to work out with a personal trainer and develop new routines.
