Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Angela Maurer:
It’s always different what I train. I’m two times a day 6 times a week in the water
My favorite workout in the water:
Total distance – ca. 5,6 km
- 100 m Warming Up
- 4 x 400 m position (25er-change, 30 sek break)
- 8 x 100 m crawl legs (30 sek break)
- 200 m crawl technical exercises
- 6 x 2:00 min crawl rope (45 sek break)
- 6 x 200 m crawl with paddles (little trains, 20 sek break )
- 600 m arms with Pullbuoy (50 m crawl and 50 m back in change)
- 100 m flooding (cool down)
Then of course I have to train in the gym for my back-, arm- and leg muscles – 3-4 times a week.
Before a competition, my coach Nikolai Evseev has adjusts the plan to the conditions of the competition.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Angela Maurer:
Not really- before a competition it is important to adapt your own weight to the water temperature. I basically like to eat anything- and a lot of it.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Angela Maurer:
Thanks so much! I don’t actually do a lot for my skin- I put moisturiser- including sunscreen- on- the water reflection can cause sun burn really quickly. I drink a lot of water and use the Brita FIll & Go to assure the quality of the water. Regarding my hair I am very happy to have a partner who supports me with caring products for my hair. Axel Russ from Wiesbaden knows what consequences the chlorine and salt water might have on the structure of my hair- he and his wife Simone and their team are my beauty secret!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to our inspiring and budding professional swimming girls who all are your fans, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in the field of swimming ?
Ms. Angela Maurer:
Swimming is a great sport and everyone who chooses this sport will love it. Use the time in the water to find yourselves and take the time just for you.
To prove ambition before and during the competition – and also to have the courage to stop a competition when the body requires it and doesn’t have enough energy anymore.
