Time to Shine: Colours for Winter 2011
There
are two characteristics that determine which season's palette
you can best wear: warm or cool and clear or muted.
Fall is already shining with the variety of colors and the
fashion designers are ready for the season with their fantastic
collections. Lets get some inspiration reviewing color trends
they supply us for the coming season fall 2011 winter 2012.
Yellow is the colour of sunshine this
season. Go for deeper tone, an orange would even look better. This
Fall/Winter, red, yellow and orange are the defining colours. Such bright
colours help brighten up the mood. But given that dark colours are so
strongly ingrained in the conventional Autumn/Winter fashion mind-set, you
have to be cautious when wearing bright colours during this season.
Balancing here and there, is key as you do not want to overdo it.
Accessorizing dull with bright and vice-versa can create magic.
Magenta- Our reaction to color is almost instantaneous and has a
profound impact on the choices we make everyday. Go for it but unlike
orange, remember there is a fine line between looking fantastic and
tasteless wearing magenta. Sum it up with black shoes or stilettos.
Honeysuckle, has bee declared as Pantone colour of 2011. A dynamic reddish
pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche
beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the
exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life. You can try
boot with a plain dress to complete the magic. Lacing, which used to be
rather delicate and feminine in Spring, has become
sexier and more aggressive in Fall and Winter.
Burgundy- It is a popular colour in fashion this winter. It looks
good on almost anyone and adds glamour to the
appearance. This color is luxurious and there is hardly a way to spoil your
look with it.
Midnight Blue is a fresh idea for any occasion. Some shade of blue is
flattering to almost anyone. In its negative mode, we can think of the
"blues"-the implication being one of sadness, passivity, alienation, or
depression.
Black: the colour of all seasons. Combined with bright or contrast
colours can work magic. Checks, stripes and prints work magic.
White- Too much of dark isnt good. So, white, as a great contrast to
black, was nearly everywhere. Why not? Its cute, feminine and gives a fantastic
opportunity to make the world lighter and more exhilarating.
Shine
for special events- Two stars in Elie Saab green
evening gowns graced
the red carpet recently with sequence. Since
Christmas is coming, consider something emerald-hued to
shine this Christmas. Remember, shiny items tend to attract
attention. No matter if it is a tiny brooch or a glitzy blouse
people will look at it before they notice all the other. This
gives you a number of advantages. By focusing on a sparkling
piece that you accentuate your asset with, you distract
attention from the areas you dont want to show. So, if you have
a thin waist try a glitzy belt. If you like how your legs look
opt for a pair of shiny pants. If your goal is to hide your
heavy thighs go for a shiny top or just a sparkling scarf as an
accessory.
In this season prints also play a significant role. The combination of
printed items with monotone ones looks perfect! Leopard, python, plaid prints
have been trendy for many seasons. Just update with trendy colors.
At New York Fashion Week (8 to 15 September 2011) for the spring 2012
collection, bright color gets attention.
