Jasmine Chen, CEO and founder of Jasmine Bespoke, a luxury Men’s custom clothier in New York City, is a former fashion model, who brings health and fitness to the next level.
She was born in Wuhan, China, raised in a small town called Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and now the entrepreneur has been living in the big apple for 7 years. Jasmine has created her business model into a lifestyle brand. “Custom tailored clothing accentuates your body, especially your best features. This should motivate everyone to be fit and look great in their fitted clothing!” Or why work out so much and not show off that bod?
Jasmine’s passion has always been fashion and business. When she is not at work, Jasmine spends most of her at the gym or in the kitchen creating new recipes. “I am always looking for new workout ideas and routines that are effective for my body”. Her athletic background includes ballet, gymnastics, tennis, track, hockey, soccer, kickboxing and more. “I have a very aggressive personality.
Anything I am involved in, I want to be the best I can at it!” She is currently member with several different gyms and workout programs in the city and a global member of her two favorites. “I believe that everyone needs to first figure out what is your goal or ideal body type you want to achieve after work outs, and secondly choose the workouts selectively, not everything trainers teach you are good for you.” Currently her obsessions are Power Yoga and Pilates. “I want a very toned and defined body yet not looking buff. These workouts that have worked for me really allows me to elongate my muscles and looking lean and toned.”
Jasmine’s other interest is cooking. She only started cooking about a few years ago but her knowledge of nutrition came from a course in Nutrition she studied during college at the Fashion Institute of Technology. “It really intrigued me in learning more about what everyone should consume and what to avoid.” When she is not busy in her kitchen, Jasmine enjoys fine dining. “It’s the decor that I love the most about fine dining. The creativity in the dishes really motivates me to create something of my own!” WIth that, Jasmine creates her dishes with her own artistic style yet with a nutritious twist.
Jasmine Chen says “I spend a lot of time and dedication to my health and fitness, but it is totally worth it. I am planning on owning a restaurant one day and I am definitely interested in becoming a private trainer or open my own gym as well in the future!”
Jasmine Chen is a fashion model and owner of Jasmine Bespoke luxury custom tailoring clothier. An exceptional achiever. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were born in Wuhan, China and raised in a small town called Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Seven years back you shifted to New York and setup Jasmine Bespoke a luxury Men’s custom clothier a lifestyle brand. Tell us about this successful professional journey of yours?
Ms. Jasmine Chen: I feel very lucky to be who I am! I came from a big city in China then growing up in the suburbs in MA, now living NYC in which feels like home! I think that traveling has really given me the opportunity to explore everything out in the world by learning new things to help me discover my true self. I studied Menswear Design and Marketing during college at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After being a designer for various companies, I decided I wanted to create a lifestyle business that was much more personable to our clientele. Then I launched Jasmine Bespoke.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are a businesswoman, fashion model, luxury men’s custom clothier, fitness dedicated personality and qualified nutritionist interested in cooking. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Jasmine Chen: I love being versatile. I have always been well rounded growing up and enjoy many different interests. As a child, I have always been busy between school and dance, then events, and then more school on weekends. I rarely had playtime simply because there was too much to do, and I remember being under a lot of pressure! The great thing about keeping myself so busy since I was young is that I am use to pressure and I actually work very well under stress. The more I have going on, the faster and more focused I am at doing everything. Or else I would simply be bored! I have a huge desire to learn. All the things that I do, make me very happy and help me in becoming the person I want to be.
