Christa Campbell is an exceptionally talented and accomplished Hollywood actress and film producer. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You grew up in Rohnert Park, California where you graduated from Rancho Cotate High School. You must have started your career as an actress early in your life. Later you made a mark by portraying a young Bettie Page in E! True Hollywood Story (1996). Later your determination and tenacity in acting propelled your professional career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of acting and glamour. Tell us about your journey that took you to where you are now in the world of acting and as producer of films?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
Well, let me start by saying I don’t think my acting career was even close to being at the top. I made films that were fun and exciting to make and for a particular audience. Mainly the horror fans. And then I was lucky enough to do other great films with really talented actors.
To make a long story short. I always loved to act and I always said I’ll never do anything else until I have the same amount of passion for it. .. I met Lati Grobman who at the time produced movies for millennium films. She kept encouraging me to produce.
There was a film I wanted to act in so badly that I helped them get their lead actor , product placement, post production money and all I wanted was a role. Lati said to me. Christa you know you just helped put the movie together, and I said it’s ok I just really want to be in it . So.. Long story short I started producing films before I even knew I was doing it . Then in 2013 when Texas chainsaw massacre came our way we decided to form our company Campbell Grobman films to make it official. Since then we are the yin and yang. Two girls who are after it .
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have selected a profession of being an actress, producer of films and in entertainment industry that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
Sometimes I ask myself. Why? I’m stressed all day long, every day there are problems. Why do I torture myself like this? Am I sick? Am I so addicted to the challenge? Possibly..But then I tell myself if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Plus there is 2 of us so we always get to bounce things off of one another. And usually Lati will focus on a certain film and I’ll focus on another . We constantly fall on each other which is a great balance.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
I’m a firm believer that the mind, body and soul are connected. When your body is solid so is your mind . I’m far from having the perfect body, but I train for my mind. I do cardio 7 days a week, combined with weights 2 days a week. And I’ll throw in power yoga and hiking to mix it up.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
Well… I know how to eat properly. Do I is the question.. I do not eat perfect but I do balance it out and try to get addicted to healthy foods.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
Thank you . I stay out of the sun. I have hyper pigmentation on my face so if I walk down the street without sunblock I immediately will have a brown splotches everywhere, and that’s not fun.
As far as my hair, it’s a frizzy mess so I have to straighten it professionally to avoid the frizz. But I try my best to keep skin and hair looking good.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words for our inspiring and budding actresses who all are your fans, what should they do for their climb to the ladder of success in field of acting?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
My biggest advise is ‘It’s all about the work’. Howard fine a famous acting coach once said. Cream rises to the top. If you are good, people will find you.
Casting agents will talk about you to directors . It’s a small town and people are always looking for the next talent. Talent meaning study hard. Become good at what you do.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are leading media personality, film producer and film & television actress. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
Work hard and never give up. Even when you feel it’s to much you have to push through.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You worked as an actress in large number of films. Elaborate any one of your memorable experience working in a particular film?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
When people ask me what’s my favorite film it’s hard to answer as they all were great because of different reasons . It’s all about the experience I had on them and not necessarily about any box office success. Sometimes it’s just working with an A list star and being able to watch them creating their art . You can learn so much by observing. Or sometimes you just are having a great time because the cast and crew are so pleasant and fun.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You and Lati Grobman co-founded “Campbell Grobman Films”. You made a formidable force to recon with in the film world. Your production house created a wide spectrum of films, ranging from horror to romantic comedy, action and documentary. Lati Grobman is your alter ego. Tell us more about the professional chemistry that exists between two of you that created such a successful professional team and how did you feel on the recognition you got at WorldFest-Houston, where your documentary film “The Resort” took home the Special Jury Award ?
Ms. Christa Campbell:
Lati and I have been friends before we were business partners . We know each other so well that we are like 1 person. There are so many things that she is good at that I am not . its a good balance. She brought me into the documentary world and I brought her into horror. Our documentary brave miss world was nominated for an Emmy last year. And our horror film Texas chainsaw opened at number 1 so I think it’s working so far.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Who has been your inspiration and motivation that led you to your success in the world of acting?
Ms. Christa Campbell: In acting? Geez .. I have so many favorites. In a strange way I think I worked so hard and kept pushing along because it was so challenging. I was not a good actress when I started. I was not natural, and everyone said you don’t have a chance. They were probably right at the time so I wanted to prove them wrong so I worked harder, studied harder and learned to at least fake confidence. Everything is about confidence. Which I had zero, probably from all the rejection… But all that has helped me to become the strong, confident, fearless person I am today, so I am thankful for everything.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have actively participated in ‘Babes in Toyland Charity Toy Drive’, Velvet Margarita’s Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebrity Charity Poker Tournament, Annual GM All-Car Showdown for charity and various charity foundations. These association are dear to your heart, tell us how you have been able to achieve and quench your thirst of giving back to the society through such endeavor of your’s?
Ms. Christa Campbell: It’s our job as public’s people to give back and help others . If I had more to give I would.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?
Ms. Christa Campbell: Women fitness. The word describes who I am and who we all should strive to be. Strong , powerful women . Who’s body’s reflect our minds.Thank you again.
